Get both.

We Americans fluidly switch back and forth, using the one that makes the most sense for the situation at hand.

Humans should use metric, until something better comes along.

Where is the sick of a fifty year transition, buying and carting around two sets of tools option?

I can see where metric is easier to use but I have full sets of both in my toolbox now so I just don't care that much..

What's hard about it?  3 feet is 3 inches short of a metre.  Sounds like you had to think for an additional second to work it out.  Hardly taxing.

You'd have no problem with a dual system.

Why change what’s working ?

We’ve been surveying in what’s called “survey feet” for a long time . It works .

Complete waste of time and money to change over.

I'm not advocating change.  That would mean replacing one system with another.  I don't think that is necessary or even workable.

I'm advocating for the "get both" argument.

Why restrict yourself to one system, when the vast majority of the world uses another?

Do what we do.  Use both.  That way you get the best of both worlds.
