Too late.  If I wanted one I'd get the Brownells version, but I don't.

If I’m in the market for one, I’d get the Armalite one for...reasons.

Yes.

Had one previously and loved it but lack of mags and the offer I received for it are why I got rid of it.

As long as it uses standard mags I will buy one.

Exact clone? Yes, depending on price
BRN180 upper on a billet AR-180 lower? Interesting
BRN180 upper on an Armalite marked AR15 lower?  Not really

Stamped steel or polymer construction?

I will buy one! Love AR180s

Biggest factor is price.

Depends on price and form factor.  Possibly yes.  Needs to use AR magazines and have a folding stock similar to the original for me to be interested.

I pretty sure I remember the "Armalite"company name was bought by Eagle Arms many many years ago. The Armalite company today is NOT the same as the original. I believe they would need to start from scratch on the tooling.

Someone correct me.........

I'd consider it if:

-Stanag comparable
-Upgraded and modernized build designed to take current AR market accessories, fcg, etc
-$1000 or less otd

But it won't, and will flop for those reasons.

I don't understand why anyone cares about a gun's aesthetics. It's a fucking tool with one job: To kill shit.

AR-180B was that.

Poorly designed lower and had to comply with 1994 ban.

Not a bad rifle at all with a NDS-18 replacement lower and some stuff. Actually very nice with upgrades.

No, he's talking about Stoner's ArmaLite which was part of Fairchild Aviation.  That company is long gone.

I have plenty of guns to kill shit.  I'm not buying more with lazy engineering and AR buffer tube receptacles where they aren't needed or wanted.

And neither is anyone else who doesn't already have a fighting rifle when they can get a PSA for $400.

I had one of those with a folding stock back in the early '80's. To be honest I didn't shoot it much, and sold it off to fund other projects.

I liked the folding stock, though. I don't even remember what magazines it took.

I think we reached our current pinnacle of utility around 1969 or so. At this point aesthetics and compatibility are all I really give a damn about.

If all my guns were "tools", I wouldn't have 5 safes full of them.

It took Armalite or Sterling mags that were AR-15 mags with a mag cut on the opposite side and a slightly different follower.

If it was an original copy right down to the last axis pin, then yes.

Sadly, that would make too much sense for most in the industry.

I would not be opposed to that at all!

NDS-18 is a fine lower.

Make it gray anodized would be the only improvement I would like.

Its been awhile since I looked the stoner guns up, but if I recall the gun can be converted back and forth from a rifle to a belt and vice versa

My god it just looks so damn good.

If they were to go back to the original stamped steel/welded lower construction ---that Id be interested in, but I know it would also push the price way up.
