Quoted: Last time I was in Germany, I visited many of the small hotel owners where we stayed while stationed there. One small (as in rural) town had a festival in the town square and the hotel owner invited us to join him and stated that the US Army Band will be there and they’re always great. Guess what the Army Band decided to do? Yep, a bunch of rap crap and hip hop. And it was: People actually walked out on them. So, is this being done to appeal to all of the gang members who joined the Armed Forces?
It's the only way it makes ANY sense on any level. It's lousy poetry set to drumbeats. On its best day, it's garbage. It's music like margarine is food. |

Does the Army still have the “Soldier Show” for fabulously talented gay Soldiers to showcase their talents on the overtly faggy entertainment mediums that were last popular in the 1960s?

Americans, the US government has deemed this so important that your grandchildren must pay for this, plus interest, in 20 years time. This is a requirement.

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: “Riddick and Feemster auditioned to serve in this capacity with the band in 2021 before completing basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, according to Coffee or Die Magazine.” How are they SSGs already? I think the band directly enlists as E6/SSG. But, just like the national guard, you subtract two ranks from what they're wearing and treat them accordingly. What about National Guard band? Divide by two. Round down if needed. Never round up. |

Worse than the Air Force Disco records that recruiters gave out in the 1980s.

I didn't realize that "tattoo" meant military music; I was thinking of ink tattoos. I'm not sure how many potential recruits for the US Army will be in Scotland, but at least it's not at a dirty inkie show !

Real, actual, military discipline and "hip hop/rap culture" are mutually exclusive.
Just one more of the "thousand cuts" that is taking our military from the greatest in history to a fucking joke. |

Quoted: I think all band people are automatically SSGs after they complete their AIT. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: “Riddick and Feemster auditioned to serve in this capacity with the band in 2021 before completing basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, according to Coffee or Die Magazine.” How are they SSGs already? I think all band people are automatically SSGs after they complete their AIT. Don't know about "all", but all the premier DC bands, have auditions first. Positions are advertised in the AFM (union) papers, no different than any other symphony gig. If you win the audition and make height/weight, THEN you go to the recruiter as a formality to do all the paperwork. Once basic is finished, there's no AIT. You report directly to DC. After a probationary two month period, your E4 status is bumped to E6. Now, if you're enlisting and are like "I wanna be in the band" (all the other non-DC bands), then you have to go to their "band school" for AIT in VA for 10 weeks. I don't know about the rank though. |

I don't mind rap or that military personnel rap, but that shit was gay.

They spoke well, had good military bearing and looked pretty fit. If they are willing to put down the mic and grab a rifle when shit goes down, I’m all for it. Like it or not we need young kids to join because we are all getting old.

Really just defund this impotent woke military already. They’ve done nothing to stop the invasion and just let our only real adversary fly a spy craft across our country. At this point literally anything would be a better way to spend the money

Here's a shocker for you guys. All of the military bands have specialized music performers. There are classical, rock, hip hop, country, etc.

View Quote Have attended Washington DC performance but only thing I heard was band playing classics with orchestral instruments but I recall some performances I didn’t attend promoted singers but I don’t remember what style - it wasn’t rap or anything that caught my attention. Most of my time in DC was occupied at the Pentagon or Ft Myer / Ft Belvoir and a couple times Ft Meade so I’ve missed most of the performances for the public. I get the outreach to the public but have other countries had rappers for their military bands? None I’m aware of |

The Army could probably support some legit rappers. Spittin dope tracks about rollin through the Fallujah hood capping fools.
However, the Army has specific regs against cool and common sense. I thought the Village People was still the official Navy band? IN THE NAVY---VILLAGE PEOPLE, Official Music Video (1979) HD |

And there are like a THOUSAND guys in the Army who are better rappers than those guys. That was f'ing sad. Hell Air Force has better rappers than those guys. White guys in the Marines are better rappers than those guys. |

Those guys are very articulate and present themselves well. Hopefully they’ll encourage more kids coming out of high school to join, instead of going to college for their worthless degree in communications.
