We’ve had discussions about BBQ/Court guns and what qualifies… Now let’s discuss what qualifies for BBQ/Court AFAIK gun leather.

My current firearm that most closely approximates as a BBQ gun is my CZ Shadow 2.

Not that it's not nice. BBQ guns need an El Paso Saddlery holster for quality of presence.

I'm just not sure that setup will do.

I have an Alchemy Prime on order and decided it warranted something a little nicer than my usual 1911 holster.

I did a lot of research and then attempted to order a set up from Exodus Gun Leather.  I completed their on-line form and, as their website instructs, attempted to call to confirm the order.   I left 3 messages over a span of 2 weeks with zero return calls.  I guess they didn't want my money.

Backup plan was TT Gunleather.   Completed their order form for full rig - holster, mag pouch & belt.  I received confirmation a day later.  I had a question about one item so I call and lo & behold a human answered & helped me out.  That is how you treat customers.

I can't wait for rig and new gun to show up.

3906-35 oz (per somewhere on the webs)
CZS2-46.5 oz (per CZ). I didn’t realize it was THAT much heavier than a 90s S&W.

A BBQ/Court gun is a fancier “dress” gun carried to formal occasions.

For some folks, that means it has to have engravings and stuff on the gun. @103 , see the post immediately above this one and zoom in on the beaver tail and the front edge of the slide.

The reddish marks on the holster are where I obfuscated the monogramming for opsec, not a flaw in the finish. This was the only holster maker I found that would accommodate my combination of light plus the threaded barrel. The bottom is also open, so if I want to put a comp on it, it won't be a problem.

Again, I didn't go for fancy but if that's what you're after, Southern Trapper has it.

Generally use this sharkskin from Wilson Combat if I'm carrying a 1911.

Horsehide with shark trim (60TK) from Milt Sparks for my 1911 for BBQs.
55BN was my EDC leather for years.
A few others from him too, I think I gave that guy a lot of $$ over the years.

Matt Del Fatti made my P7M8 dress leather. Milt Sparks made the IWB for the P7M8.
Have a nice shoulder rig for the P7M8 I had made in the UK, but dont recall who the maker was, also he passed from what I hear.

Never owned anything with flowers/scroll work on it, its just not me.
I dont need to buy nice holsters anymore, and the wait lists probably stretch into multiple years these days.
I think the longest I ever waited back then was 18 months.
Most modern pistols that I EDC don't rate that kind of love.

“The Glory Hole Holster gets its name from the materials it is made from. On the exterior of this leather holster you will find a hand dyed alligator asshole with a hand dyed beaver tail beneath it. These unique colors bring out the wonderful textures of this usually discarded piece of leather. Let's not beat around the bush, this holster is so interesting that it would stop Davy Crockett in his tracks. As we all know, no two assholes are alike, the Glory Hole Holster is truly one-of-a-kind.”

That white stitching looks good with sculpted leather, I just wish MS offered a darker stitch with their less ornate stuff. I have a black 55BN on order for the Sig P229 Legion SAO Compact I just bought in part for that reason. I'm on week ten of their 26 week backorder list, btw

Sharpie actually makes a fabric pen that's supposed to work well on stitching without affecting the leather (you wipe it off before it dries). A couple of brave souls on YouTube have actually done their car seats. One of these days I'm going to give it a go...

I'm sure it was ridiculously expense, but when I looked at that Python elephant hide and read what it was the first thing I thought was damn, did they use the poor fucker's scrotum? I guess I would go with a holster that matches my sporran. Since I usually use the handmade sporran that my first wife made me, and I dress like a schlub all the time. I guess the standard kydex belt OWB or my Alien Gear shoulder holster with my G19 or Canik will do just find. I'll just stand over here by the bushes.
