I refuse to watch anything with that shitstain Liam Neeson in it. Mr. Rabid anti-gun, and every movie poster of his is him holding a gun. F that hypocrite, he should go skiing more.

While I believe that remaking this movie is a travesty, Liam Neeson is about the worst choice I can think for that role. He's been so type-cast as a serious "revenge getter", that it'll be difficult to envision him an any thing other than a dramatic thriller role.

One roll they could race switch and no one would care if it was funny, but the characters an idiot so they won't.
Terrible idea, but if you're going to do it, at least pick someone who fits right in being an idiot.
Steve Carell or Will Ferrell would have been a better choice. |

Remake naked gun in today's climate?? All the politically incorrect humor gone, nothing left to remake.

Is he going to pee his pants throughout the movie like he does in real life?

Entering without a search warrant, destroying property, arson; sexual assault with a concrete dildo?
So they’re just going to have Liam Neeson get drunk and piss himself the whole movie?
I hope it has Ana De Armas in it and there is reference to her nice beaver.

Are they totally incapable of creating any new material these days?
This is absolutely pathetic. Agree with the bad casting and doubtful they can even make it funny in today's climate. |
It’ll make $87 opening weekend like the rest of the reboot trash.

Quoted: To be fair, Airplane worked so well because the people in it weren’t known for comedy, including Leslie Nielsen. View Quote Yeah people forget Nielsen was known for serious roles prior to Airplane and was cast against type specifically because that juxtaposition was funny. He had only really been a B list celebrity until then and became a bonafide star after. I could see it working with neisen if it was played right. Shit Neisen was only really known for art house and Oscar bate films before being cast against type in Taken. Honestly though the whole Zucker style comedy got fucked out by the Scary Movie franchise and those derivatives. Comedies in general have been in a slump for a while. It’s not all woke Hollywood stifling it either. Comic book movies became so dominant in money making, and one of the only things people go to theaters for, they just switched wholesale to what people were paying the most to see. I tried watching The Machine last weekend because I like Bert Kreiser and thought he seemed affable enough to carry a movie. I made it 1/3rd of the way through and turned it off. It was just terrible. Comedy was on a slide itself when they started all leaning heavy on the adlib style Will Ferrel nailed (even got old watching him do it) over well thought out jokes, dialogues, and characterizations. You’d never see a My Cousin Vinny these days. |

Not interested in the remake and I think Neeson is a terrible choice to take the role, but you guys saying he's already typecast in serious roles apparently don't remember that Leslie Nielson was typecast as a dramatic actor, too. That's why his roles in Airplane! and The Naked Gun were so funny. He was playing the straight guy...as a bumbling, good natured idiot.

EDIT: Someone beat me to it.
Leslie Nielsen was a serious/drama actor and wasn't known for comedies prior to Airplane. |

Life's Too Short Liam Neeson Tries to Break Into Comedy |

Leslie Nielson successfully pulled off going from a straight man to a funny man, but there is no way that commie Neeson can do it.
That movie will be horrible! |
