War crimes court 'monitoring developments' in West Bank: ICC prosecutor registers 'great concern'
The International Criminal Court's top prosecutor says she is keeping a close eye on developments in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza, as Israeli forces and Palestinians engage in deadly clashes and retaliatory strikes. In a tweet on Wednesday, the court's chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said she was concerned by developments in the region. "I note with great concern the escalation of violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as well as in and around Gaza, and the possible commission of crimes under the Rome Statute," the prosecutor tweeted. "My office will continue to monitor developments on the ground and will factor any matter that falls within its jurisdiction." View Quote I am guessing this works like the court systems in the US were the Right get prosecuted for defending themselves and Left have their charges dropped for attacking them, Israel being the Right in this case. |

View Quote No need, Israel itself demands their citizens be disarmed. It's not like the old days. It's clown world over there, and the IDF doesn't care about muzzle sweeping people because they're just people and can't really complain. |

View Quote I doubt Israel cares about the ICC. If they did they wouldn't have Mossad assassination squads. In this case, what kangaroo court is going to have much to say about a country who has had over 1,000 rocket and mortar attacks in the last 48 hours, that they should do nothing? They aren't the USA. |

Quoted: Not really. Orthodox Jews, especially in Israel, seem to like (love) Socialism. They certainly hate conservatives and Christians. In fact, I'd say it's easier to get a job and housing in Israel if you are a Muslim than if you are a Christian. Hamas media saying they will hit a new target 6pm local time, so in 45 min. They've taken substantial leadership losses so I expect this to be on par with last night in terms of numbers, they will look weak if they don't.
EDIT: apparently this has already changed |

Quoted: Maybe some of the mil guys here can help my dumb ass understand: if you were getting shelled by primitive rockets like this, wouldn't you put the entire Israeli air force over Gaza to locate and bomb the fuck out of these places the moment someone so much as lights a cigarette? Or I guess maybe that is already happening since I've read that they have conducted air strikes? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Oh shit. Things re getting spicy. Or I guess maybe that is already happening since I've read that they have conducted air strikes? I don’t know about Hamas, but I know the Taliban would set up rockets on timers so that when they fired and gave us a point of origin to target there wouldn’t be anyone there, except maybe some women and kids they moved in to capitalize on civilian deaths. Nobody has enough aircraft to watch everything all the time to catch them setting up. |

Quoted: what did miss? I knew rockets were flying lastnight and in the morning they struck tunnels any other action? View Quote Good chunk of Hamas leadership turned to gravel. Few sporadic rocket launches from Gaza but nothing like yesterday. Israel is hitting targets every hour it seems. They also are convening a security council meeting in 20 min. Perhaps to discuss ground ops. IDF put out statements saying they do not want a ceasefire, indicating they plan on going scorched earth. |

Quoted: Quoted: It makes one wonder how much of the money that Obama gave to Iran made its way back to Hamas in the form of rockets and weapons. All of it...... Makes one wonder where exactly that stateless dhow was heading, and whether or not DC polits will get involved and transfer those weapons so that they may continue on their journey. The CIA was balls deep into ISIS in Benghazi; those guys were dealing weapons there when they were attacked. Their efforts to tie up their loose ends went somewhat sideways, but it's pretty easy to see where our glorious new stolen regime lays their loyalty, and it isn't with Israel, or us, for that matter. The destruction of our inner cities and the biological attacks, and now, attacks on our own infrastructures that are going to leave us without fuel or resources, and all over money, drugs, and human trafficking. The big guy couldn't keep his ego in check. Pride comes before a fall. Not for nothing, but while he was doing such a good job of promoting peace in the mid east, his own country, our country, was under attack from within, and we allowed the rug to be pulled out from under the people who lived in those areas, and pretty much gave them up to the other side. Not too surprised about the end result of someone's ego trip. Now the rest of us suffer while he plays golf, and there are lunatics in charge of our nation, who have proven to be wholly ineffective in leading this country anywhere except straight down the tubes. We're in deep trouble. It's only going to get worse. |
