Made in India.
A place known for its water quality. China isn't the only place you don't want to get your drugs from. |

I would watch a movie about a man who loses his eyes to contaminated eye drops and then takes revenge on big pharma using the martial arts skills he learned while recovering in the remote forests of Japan.
Blind Vengeance. They're going to pay, and he'll see to it personally. Coming soon to Netflix. |

I had an infection in both of my eyes from using old drops. My eye specialist had blood drawn and turned into an eye drop serum that had to always be kept cold. The only treatment that was next level was where they take cadaver skin soaked in god knows what and plaster that to your eyes for 30 days.

I've lived with a blind person and used to work for the state helping blind people learn how to...be blind.
If I am ever blinded to the point that I lose independence, that's going to a 12 gauge moment. ETA I've had an old bottle of eye drops in the car and a couple in the emergency preps that are out of date. I'm tossing them right stat now. |

With a lot of those drugs from China or India you could have a pretty good number of people dying from bad drugs and who would know. The patients are sick anyway. People with itchy eyes don't often just go blind so they were stretching there luck this time. Must of been some real nasty India water. People eyes get all sorts of stuff in them and recover.

Would you watch that? Nah, that's WAY too farfetched. They'd NEVER make a movie like that unless it had some kind of message. Say, maybe in the middle of it there's a hot blind chick that's always getting shit on, but she uses her ability to read braille to turn the tables on her abuser... THAT would be cool. |

I am of the mind that you don't ingest anything other than what you need to. This is a reason why. My moms friend was murdered by the dude who tampered with Tylenol bottles and replaced the Tylenol with poison back in the day.

I am a little skeptical about linking the infection to those drops as the story says the infected may have used them. They also may have eaten at McDonalds or gone to Disneyland. Not clear cause and effect. I raise this argument because a number of years ago the FDA pointed the figure at a B&L contact lens solution as being infected solely based on the majority of the people who had the infection used the product. No contamination was found in the product I believe. Pulling the product off the shelf makes sense but they need to be able to show contamination to blame that -reduction. People are asking me about this every day as I have a great deal of geriatric patients and most older people have dry eye. Edit. Systaine is great. I’m skeptical about blaming the other drops without a contaminated bottle. Most have a lot of preservatives |

And pseudomonas is a bitch. Seen it a few hundred times but have been able to kill it with common antibiotics. Only one case required “fortified “ ones from a compounding pharmacy.
Fungal infections are worse. Acanthamoeba is worse still. I have had a couple patients with vision loss from that one. All have been monocular fortunately |
