IMO, AP and API ammo would get priority. A healthy supply of ball is a given. The M82A1 isn't a precision rifle, so I wouldn't bother with match ammo. Benching it and just shooting groups will be kinda disappointing. A 2'x3' target at 400m and a timer is fun.

Took mine to Knob Creek a few months back. They had a huge boulder at the very end we were taking chunks out of with American Marksman ball ammo. It was pretty damn fun.

How much better is the Swiss AP vs the M8 API at putting holes in things?
SGammo has both but the Swiss stuff is way pricier |

I have had one for years... Get yourself a 5/16 vacuum cap from the auto store and put on the end of the charging handle. It prevents dings in your brass... Also watch how your leave the carry handle. Flipped the wrong way dings the rail. I put some rail covers on mine to protect.
Enjoy.  Here is what just regular ol API does to 2 railroad tie plates welded back to back..

Found this photo in another thread. The real MK211 round is on the left. The tip is more round and blunt than your standard rounds.
