Looking to upgrade an open carry battle belt holster. The rig is the full Esstac setup with pouches and a dump pouch (snickers and chocolate milk go in there).
Main use is range time for shooting steel on the move and attending classes as I am a full time desk jockey working for the man. I am not satisfied with my current holster as i've got longer arms. 6' 3.5" and the pistol above the waistline seems very inefficient for my long skinny arms, right handed. So far, having the heel of the pistol at the belt line looks ideal. Pistol is a G19, Gen5 with RMR. no light, they're stupid. What are a few recommendations of a setup which puts the rig even with the belt line? I am wide open for brands, makes model and even out of the box thinking. (All except the old school big drop leg down the thigh) I'd prefer to buy a package one stop shop/turn key if that exists. Not so focused on the budget as my wife has been making some extra money in singles lately. Yes this is posted in GD so I am open to the mega purse swinging, beans with or without chili debates that typically ensue. I am here for actual information and recommendations and of course the lulz. Bring it on? |

Safariland 6000 series holster and a True North Concepts modular adapter.

Safariland is a good option. You might also consider the Comp-Tac International.

Safariland 6378 with 6072 UBL belt attachment with my Beretta. The 6072 is a high ride attachment, but with the mounting points on the 6378 it is more of a mid ride.

True North Concepts adapter, Safariland male/female QLS adapter & a holster with corresponding screw pattern works well. The pistol is away from the body, below the belt (OP wanted even) and cant is adjustable...

Safariland is the answer, on a True North mount....but WTF on the light. A pistol light is a must have. It's dark 24/7 when you go indoors and its dark for about half the day outdoors. You need to see what you are shooting at and it blinds the person trying to kill you...it's as basic as it gets. Put a X300 on that Glock.

Safariland has most of the love around here. I run two G Code holsters with RTI mounts so they can be switched easily similar concept to Safariland QLS and the True North plate. I don't really understand the need for people running level III holsters but to each their own.

Safariland is the way. Level II or better retention is a must.
If Safariland doesn't offer the pistol + light combo you need, consider Dara. I've got one of their holsters and it's very good. I don't know if this is true for all their light bearing holsters, but my M&P + TLR7A holster works fine if I don't have the light installed. I've got this one with a drop/offset: https://daraholsters.com/light-bearing-level-ii-duty-holster/ |

It's what 99% of guys who wear it for a living will end up with. Glove hook...dump pouch ( i like one with a partial lid), Safariland on the QLS forks, mag pouches (ESS is the standard but I think it is over rated and I am likely going to the GBRS pouches), maybe add a flashlight pouch if you are able. I like to run a bigger handhled light that is at the absurdly bright level for outdoor use...so it replaced the second AR mag. I added VTac suspenders because the belt would slide down when I was running. YMMV, but that pic is 99% of what guys will run. |

Unkle mikes canvas with button strap retention
Seriously though, there is only one answer. Safariland. |

Quoted: Safariland is always the answer. View Quote I've been extremely happy with Safariland GLS holsters. Good retention that is easy to use and one holster can fit multiple different guns, often without even adjusting if. They are also inexpensive. I use the same holster for M&P and P80 without needing to adjust. If I adjust it, it can hold a 1911 or a CZ75. |

Best holster has a HAM on it and even a negative cant plate if you value draw speed.
Put a TQ on it. https://centrifugetraining.com/product/holster-accessory-mount/ |

I should make a battle belt with blackhawk holster, promags, and uncle mikes and "run" it at the range...

|
I think I’m SOL for a level 2+ retention holster for a VP9 tactical with a x300.

View Quote Your hands are always at the ends of your arms, but they're frequently above your waist, especially if you're a desk jockey. Try your draw seated behind a desk with whatever you have vs whatever you're getting, if you can. Ditto seated in vehicle, walking around with something in your hands, hands on backpack straps, etc. 6"2' knuckle-dragger, here |

Safariland ALS + QLS system makes it easy to switch up guns/holsters in seconds.
I use high ride w/ belt slide QLS on my carry belt. Mid ride UBL QLS for my 2 piece belts. They make a Low ride UBL if the mid isn’t low enough for you. |
