If you are in an area active with wildlife, be sure you can set it to chipmunk/raccoon/coyote/bear sensitivity levels or it will be going off all night for every little thing.

I'm not sure if I'm more surprised at people suggesting cell service game cams or the fact that people get cell service where they are camping.

I learned a long time ago having an old, cheap "trailhead car" is wise. The one i had was a twenty year old Sentra. It was old and ugly, but it was mechanically sound . I don't normally keep a a trashed up vehicle, but that one had "prop" trash and clothes strewn about inside. I used to joke with my wife that i could have left it unlocked. Twice we came back to the car and we'd find some nice vehicle parked near it with a window smashed out.

You can also easily spot problem trailhead parking. Just give the lot a good walk around. Automotive safety glass shatters in tiny bits. It seldom gets cleaned up completely, if at all.
