On a serious note Bobo and the gang from the TV show just did an episode that had a rural mailman testimony that occurred 10 min from me. Saw the road and was all like WUT?

Where abouts in SC?

And how about the story you saw on the show.

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.1301423,-80.2100181,16z

As far as the story, it passed their little re-enactment test.

Not an area of SC I'm familiar with.

I was actually asking what the actual story was.  Just googled bobo and he's from finding bigfoot so obviously a bigfoot story lol

I think the whole "monkee" thing came from Muddydog (a great teller of stories about Bigfoot) who unfortunately was banned some time ago.

Either that or it's how Bigfeet are referred to on cryptozoology forums.

I'm just guessing. I really don't know.

Regarding guns and calibers.  Most of the Bigfooters that I know are from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.  Most go armed.  I've seen mostly 12 gauge shotguns but just about anything else as well.  As far as handguns, most carry ordinary auto-pistols from 9mm and up.  Most carry for the same reason anyone else would.  I've talked to three people as of now that were involved in or near to claimed Bigfoot shootings.  This guns were an autoloading 12 gauge, a bolt action .30-06 and .308.  In each case, blood was drawn but the creature escaped.  In two of these case DNA tests were done but no match was made.  I've talked to several people that have had other samples tested as well in each case, the results are typically "unknown" or "human with contamination in sample" or "primate".

Interesting.  IF bigfoot was/is real and I were hunting him, I wouldn't use a bolt gun.  Not on a critter that can move that fast.

As far as handguns go, I reckon I'd go with the G20 or 29.

The typical claimed shooting with a bolt action is generally an accidental encounter by a hunter.

I've gotten to know one of them.  All three are straight up honest guys with the Bigfoot thing being the only unusual thing about them.  I've talked to a lot regular witnesses and most of them are ordinary people.  They come from a wide variety of careers and backgrounds. I'll admit that Bigfoot makes no logical sense from a scientific viewpoint.  However, if you talk to enough witnesses, you start seeing patterns and similarities. Adding to that is the fact that I got into investigating because I became a witness.  It becomes a giant unsolvable mystery at that point.

Just read the report.  Pretty neat.  Do you have pics of the area it happened?

I wonder how a bigfoot could perform.  Running speed, horizontal and vertical jump, etc

Ever looked at a mountain lions stats?  Impressive.  Wonder how it would compare.

Now I'm recalling this from memory, the information is stored on my tablet which has isn't charged at the moment.  I was studying mountain lions cause I was searching for one.

If I recall correctly they can jump ~15' vertical,~ 45' horizontal and ~60' down onto a target.  That means no matter where you are in the woods, he will get you if he wants.  A smaller river won't even keep you separated from him.  Spooky shit. lol  They can also sprint 45 mph, only for a couple hundred yards though

I don't have a photo handy.  However, at the time of the sighting one side of the road was pine and a mixed brush thicket.  The other side of the road was a cow pasture with a barbed wire fence.  The creature was about 5' tall and jumped the 4' fence at a run on two legs.  It dropped down on all fours for more speed and crossed in front of me.  It went back up on two legs after crossing in front of me.  My wife and I made estimates of how many seconds it took to cross the road and I averaged the estimates and compared that to the width of the road.  Based on those figures, it was moving about 30 mph.  It was extremely muscular.

It isn't hard to get involved in doing investigations.  If people know you do it and trust you to be discreet, you will have people pour out of the woodwork to tell you stories.  However, they must trust you and you must be totally discreet.  The majority of people want to be anonymous because of fear of ridicule.  I've talked to paranormal and Bigfoot witnesses that were law enforcement, ex-military, fire fighters, teachers, doctors, politicians, etc.  If you get out there with an open mind, you will find evidence.  Proof is an entirely different matter.  You will also find that the majority of people are honest in what they are saying.

This is a good example.  I know a forest fire crew.  I went to school with most of them from K thru 12th grade.  A few years back, the entire crew saw a Bigfoot fleeing in front of a fast moving forest fire.  The fire had been raging all day and burned hundreds of acres.  This is a very unlikely hoax situation.  For one thing, the hoaxer would have had to be about 7' tall and running full speed in the middle of a massive fire in a dense thicket with a massive fur suit in 100 degree temperatures.  The whole crew agrees about what they saw.

I'm fully aware that eye witness testimony is fallible but the sheer weight of thousands of reliable witnesses can't be dismissed out of hand either.  Add in the fact that physical evidence is fairly common and you eliminate it being a complete fantasy.  DNA evidence is out there but without acknowledged database entries to match them against, it isn't possible to prove anything with DNA.  Chimps are between 96% and 98% identical to humans in their DNA depending on who you believe.  Bigfoot (assuming he is real) would be most likely even closer.  No DNA tech is his right mind is going to look at a DNA sample that is 99% human and come up with any conclusion other than "can't find a match" or "contaminated human DNA sample".

Michelle "Howling Sodomizer" Obama

Ok all obama jokes aside.

This happened when I was 15.  My brother and I were sitting on our front porch shooting the shit(probably smoking cigarettes after parents went to bed lol).  We heard a pack of dogs howling in the distance, going nuts.  They were moving rapidly torward our direction, then stopped and continued howling several hundred yards away, probably 500 or so(26 acre farm, half woods).  It sounded like they had something treed.  This went on for about a minute after they stopped, then we hard this howl/growl/snarl thing very similar to a large wild cat doing their real cool noise they make(roar I guess?).  As far as I know mountain lions can't make this roar.  Right after the roar let out we heard crashing from the tree, dogs yelping, and silence.  This isn't something you experience every day in GA.  The next day my bro and I trekked down into the woods armed to where the noise came from.  Under this huge tree positioned at a dried out creek bed there were dog tracks covering the sandy dirt and blood.  Lots of blood.  That's all that was there.  Who the hell knows what happened?  I've always been curious about this one.

I'll give another example of a sighting:

Witnesses: Two witnesses.  Mother and daughter that I've known all of my life.  Mother is retired and daughter was about 40 at the time of the sighting.

Location:  State highway in rural area of the East Texas Big Thicket.  Sighting occurred on the highway in a "creek bottom".

Background:  Very reliable and honest people that I've literally known all my life. Both spoke on the condition of anonymity and had waited several years to tell the story.

Sighting: The daughter was driving when she had to slam on her brakes to avoid hitting four panicked deer running out in front of her.  Closely following the deer was a creature running on all fours that she and her mother described as looking like a "werewolf" or a "wookie".  It was human sized with arms as long as it's legs.  It had hands and a flat face. (ie., no muzzle)  Coloration was reddish brown and hair was long.  Running speed was as fast as a deer moving full speed.

One interesting thing about the sighting is that it is in an area with a history of sightings that go back to the 1940's.  The hands and human like face are a dead give away.  Running as fast as a deer on all fours rules out a human.  BTW, quadrupedal running is very commonly reported.

Good example.  I'm more inclined to believe someone that has nothing to gain.

ETA:  What do you make of my story above?  I don't believe it was any sort of cryptid or super natural thing.  I do believe it was an out of place animal.

I was investigating with my daughters once.  Something large had been following us out of sight.  (Not too unusual in the woods.  It can even be things like deer.)  I decided to get my oldest daughter to do a "scream" just to see if anything reacted.  Did it ever.  The response growl/roar was enough to vibrate my chest.  It was definitely intended as a threat display and it worked.  Hand on my 1911 and the girls  behind me, we backed out of the area.  I've never had any luck "calling".  I think it responded because it was my daughter calling.

If it wasn't a cryptid, then most likely answer would have to be an orangutan.  However, I've got multiple reports of the same type creature within a few miles that span 70 years.

How old is/was your daughter?  Why do you reckon something would respond to her and what do you think it was?

I live in SE TN about 30 minutes from GA.  I would be in for a bigfoot expedition.  I have helmet mounted Gen 3 NVG's and a 458 SOCOM with an IR laser/illuminator.  Bigfoot wouldn't stand a chance

Awesome, I live about 10-15 minutes from TN and NC.  I'm in Fannin County GA.  We'll have to put together a bigfoot expedition.

It was the volume and intensity of the growl.  Think bear on steroids. My daughter was about 16 at the time.  I've talked to some other investigators that claim activity is greater if females are present.  However, I don't take my daughters out as much now for safety reasons.  Too many pot growers in our area now.

If women provoke bigfoot into vocalizations I wonder why it would make him perform a threat display.  Wouldn't he rather be "trying to pick a girl up" rather than scaring the shit out of her?

I wonder how other scenarios with women involved have played out.

BTW, there is a big difference between TV and what goes on without cameras.

This photo is for an upcoming Bigfoot TV show but the guns are the actual guns used by the investigators involved:

Is that a benelli M2 I see?  I almost got one of those but something happened to my order with buds.  Ended up getting a Beretta 1301 Tac instead.  Cool shotgun, unneccesarily complicated too.  If you fuck up while reloading it you could be in a world of hurt.

I'm not generally able to carry a longarm in the places that I go.  However, if I did:

Head shots would of course be mandatory.

Edited to add: Took the photo before I mounted the rear sight and yes, I'll die because the red dot is too cheap.
