In before boomer landlords raise rent to compensate for the points they get.

Reward points, usually either cash back or giftcards.

Paying rent on credit?

Unless the balance is paid off monthly that seems kind of dumb. And how many of the Gen Z's aren't bitching about how difficult it is to pay for their lives and can afford to do that?

Interest? They know that a portion of their users will still use the card for other purposes and carry the debt. The rent perk is just a draw to get people to use it.

The card's issued by Wells Fargo, so I'm not confident that it will be on time.

They make money off interest paid by those too irresponsible to pay off the credit card every month.

Bilt World Elite Mastercard® is issued and administered by Wells Fargo Bank N.A, pursuant to a license from Mastercard. Mastercard is a federally registered service mark of Mastercard.

Wells Fargo is completely woke.  But i'm waiting for the left to complain WF is taking advantage of poors or certain demographic with this card.

It was only a month or so ago that they delayed paycheck deposits and screwed over the poors. I don't think they're going out of business, but they had a problem servicing customers.

I used to get credit card points for my rent. Then the rental property owners added transaction fees for credit card payments that exceeded the rewards points, so I quit doing that.

When I was renting a commercial space, I paid with a Delta SkyMiles card every month. The rewards were very worth it.

The building was owned by a car dealership. I just went in every month and paid at the cashier in the dealership.

Last place I rented certainly would take a card, granted they did push everyone into auto debit from their respective bank account. Checks were ironically the last thing they wanted.

Banks can't get the dumbasses to borrow at 6% for college, so they get them to borrow on a credit card at 22%, AND convince them they're getting money back.

I pay all my bills with my card.  I’d do the mortgage too if I could. You know how much credit card interest I’ve paid in the last 20 years?

ZERO.

It’s a payment tool, not a loan instrument.

Sadly the siren song of being able to spend more money than you have is too strong for the unwashed masses.

Strange. I worked for many employers that rented their suites or buildings. I rented various apartments for ~20 years. I have rented and leased out commercial property. Not one contract allowed payment with a credit or debit card.

Mine does. Maybe you need to switch. landlords no but mortgage loan firms will. if ppl are still renting, maybe its time for them to stop throwing their money away and buy a home.
