The show was pure comic genius.  The episode where they are sailing across the seas and they were running out of water so had to think about drinking their own piss....and the one guy had already been drinking piss the whole time

Shocked that I had to get as far as most way to the bottom of page 2 before I saw "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister" listed.
Those shows are utter, total genius. Not only are they a sitcom, they are a documentary at the same time.

The problem with Father Ted is that unless you're up to speed particularly with Irish pop culture from the late 90s (I'll bet few of you are familiar with Bishop Eamonn Casey, or the time Ireland won the Eurovision three times in a row and RTE's head was pulling his hair out at the expense), a number of the jokes are going to go right over your head.
