Posting you're doing 60 when traffic conditions say otherwise is probably I'll advised as well.

Nothing increases traction in bad conditions like stacks, truck nuts and salt life and yeti stickers.  When those assets are deployed by an operator with a flat billed hat and large Oakley sunglasses, the vehicle would be unstoppable !!

I never thought of that.  M frames, they are the answer to more traction.  I always thought it was so I could look like a rugged 80s soldier of fortune.

Nope.

Slow. Light on the gas, light on the brakes, steer into the slide if possible.

Nothing goes well on ice. Even if the neighbor was talking about getting studded tires last year when his jeep wouldn't get outta the drive way.

That giant clevis on the back of that dozer from a thread here would have been a fine traction aid.  And recovery point.

While I'm not rich enough for a WRC spec car, or dumb enough to drive like an ass on shitty roads, I can count on GD's hands the number of times I've passed fucked up 4x4s in my simple ass focus.

Sometimesit is the car, sometimes it is the driver, but most of the time it is a combination of both.

Not even close.  And when the snow gets deep, more ground clearance is required to keep moving.   A stock truck with ATs starts to struggle with around 15 inches of heavy snow, but a lifted truck can go through substantially more.  If it's light fluffy snow, even a stock truck can go through a few feet.  Your car isn't going through any of that.

I have Wrangler AT/S on one truck, Cooper A/T3 on the other.  The Wrangler are better on ice, but the Cooper are better in deep snow.

With onboard air you can get into really deep snow by just lowering the pressure similar to sand driving.

I've been in 3-4 feet with an audi rs4 on blizzaks on unplowed roads.

We wont talk about the inner fender wells ripped out, all the under belly plastic ripped off, or from when I had to plow through a 5' high bank in reverse the exhaust getting pushed a little bit so when I down shifted the drive shaft clanked off of it every time.  Ah to be young again early 20's! Oh yea and not being able to open the doors right because the snow was so high lol I seriously did maybe 60 miles that way on back roads.

Another time was an Audi TT-RS the same situation, same tires. Trying to get to a airport to leave the country and they were closing around SE PA so we quick hauled ass to LaGuardia. My girlfriends escalade left the emblem print in the snow when she parked. Both of those cars were even lowered.

Kodiak will rain, then hard freeze overnight, then rain then hard freeze then rain.  2 inches of shiny plate glass on the roads with a fresh gale blasting in off the ocean.  This lady was doing nothing wrong, just sitting still in hee van, but the crown of the road and the wind just slid her into the ditch.  I can still see her silent screams through the windshield and i chuckle.
