Please explain the "Republican Revolution of 1994" then.

Once upon a time, there was a magical land that had a two party system.
On one Election Day, the party that was in the majority switched places with the minority, and everyone lived happily ever after.
Or am I over simplifying things?
Personally, I found the "Contract with America" to be more Words than Action.
Also, the Revolution skipped Wisconsin.

My point was a response to this:
You can dress the ignorazzi up in a red tie and they're still ignorazzi - in other words - the misled are still misled regardless of which side of the playground they end up on.

The same "ignorazzi" that kept the same party (Dems) in power for many decades suddenly made a monumental switch to the right and elected the Repubs in both the house and Senate. There had to be a reason for that. I'd opine it was the huge gallop to the left, initiated and orchestrated by Clinton and the Dems in Congress who suddenly felt like kids in a candy store. The "ignorazzi" noticed and reacted accordingly.
The Contract With America was successful in a number of ways. For instance, welfare reform came from it. Several items failed due to the filibuster ability of the Dems. No fault of Repubs that.
Oh, I'm a Cheesehead too. You say it "skipped Wisconsin"--well, let me tell you, having lived in both states for over twenty years each, I can tell you that state is every bit as liberal overall as this one. Blech!
