“Farmers’ markets are often white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized,” the SDSU professors write, the education watchdog Campus Reform reported Wednesday. View Quote |

They are mentally ill, that is what I chalk all this up to. |

The geology professors claim that 44 percent of San Diego’s farmers’ markets cater to “households from higher socio-economic backgrounds,” which raises property values and “displaces low-income residents and people of color.” View Quote - The geology professors... - Less than half of their own data says farmers markets cater to high socio economic backgrounds. |

Have the lobbyist figured out that they don't need politicians anymore? Just tell the rabid leftist that something is racist, and watch them destroy the competition.

But . . . if they sold fried chicken and watermelons and bananas, that would be racist, too!
This racism thing gets so complicated. We just don't seem to be able to satisfy all 350,000,000 people living here. |

And catering to high socio-economic bakgrounds is a bad thing, because farmers should be happy to sell the produce that they bust their asses to raise to a bunch of barrio brokedicks at lower prices rather than taking it to markets where people can and will pay more. Most farmers' markets these days are simply produce purchased from a distributor sold to unwitting white morons who like to feel good about themselves by paying 3x the price for the exact same shit they could buy at the grocery store.
Regardless, the professor is mentally ill and should consider suicide. |

What if the markets had a small area where they sold skittles, swisher sweets and arizona ice tea? Would it still be racist?

The Farmers Market in Troy, NY allows you to buy "tokens" with your EBT card.
That way they can then use the tokens to buy prohibited items, like booze. Sounds pretty "diverse" to me. |

Both professors are white, and thus are furthering white liberal habits by labeling weird shit racist.

Everything is racist these days. The word no longer has any meaning at all.

Everything is racist.
Just this morning, the Boston news said that the cities desire to change School Start times did not take minorities into account, and the ACLU is filing a lawsuit. |
|
Everything that white people enjoy that black people haven't yet destroyed, is racist.

Well at least The Wookie got her ugly mug in the news again.

These professors will not be happy until the Government takes over the farms and leases out small parcels to the peasants.
Oh wait......didn't they try they somewhere before? |

I went to the farmers market last Dec. in Sunnyvale, CA. It was depressing. I've never longed to interact with someone who looked like me until then. I felt like I was dropped in the middle of Mumbai or Beijing.

The term "racist" has been played so much....it has zero meaning to me
|
|
Of course, if you closed the "racist" farmer's markets then they'd complain it was a "food desert" and that minorities had no opportunity to eat healthy food.
|
|
What's funny is that around here, Farmers Markets are the most liberal, yuppy, SJW event you can go to.
As a guy who actually eats vegetables from a real goddamned farm, I chuckle my ass off at someone paying $10 for a bunch of "heirloom carrots" or "free range goats milk soap". |
|
But, I thought we were trying to solve the crisis of food deserts in the inner city.
So, absence of fresh food is racist. Presence of fresh food is racist. Everything is racist. |
|
In Michigan, food stamps count double at farmer's markets.
This means that the people who actually pay for the food stamps only get a dollar's worth of food for every dollar spent, but the people who are living on their backs get two. |
|
When your only tool is the racist card, everyone looks like a racist.
Fire their ass! This hatred doesn't need to be taught at the university. |
|
Zimbabwe is such a good example- force all the honkey farmers out.

There is only one minority demographic that typically does not eat fresh food at all.

</a> Interesting segment about how rich liberal whitey now shows affluence through different status symbols ie not fancy cars but Pilates, breast feeding (that's kinda bs poor people are pushed into that also) farmer markets, organic food, locally produced food, cremation, I forget the rest goatboy is oppressing me with these annoying links |

My wife was at a seminar in Boston so I walked around for the day. Besides wandering into the ghetto (thanks Garmin gps that was off by miles) , I found a Farmer's Market.I walked in one side and walked out by cutting between some parked trucks. Behind the trucks were the boxes the vegetables came in from some distributor in NYC, I would guess a lot of the stuff was from China or Mexico

|
Most of those "farmer markets" are actually just re-sellers who mark up the product 200%. |
