What kind is it? An inexpensive toy drone, or a nice DJI? A lot of the cheaper ones will fly out of range and lose control especially with a kid flying it. Either way someone would appreciate getting it back. It was most likely someone losing control with their new toy. I doubt anyone was using it to spy on anyone. Probably belongs to a kid.

Why do think it is spying on you? You know people fly those for fun. Who you plan shooting with that AR? See how that logic is not very good. Lot of time there is contact info on them if it is worth anything. Give it a once over may find a phone number.

If the drone is over a certain weight and the owner followed the law, he should have labeled it with his ID. Try removing the battery to see if there's a label in the compartment.

Ask your neighbors to ask their neighbors if someone lost one. It isn't that hard to be a good person and an act of kindness is generally better than being an asshole in the long run.
Plus good neighbors might come in handy in the future. Of course YMMV, but it sounds like you live in a nice neighborhood.

I'd pull the card if there's one to see if any pictures could identify the owner or where they live. Check it for anything written or printed on it that might show the owner and try to return it.
