Good grief, OP. Fix the deceptive title.
Should they get medals? No. Should you mislead us all with clickbait garbage thread titles? Also No. |

SEC. 3. DUPLICATE MEDALS.
The Secretary may strike and sell duplicates in bronze of the gold medals struck pursuant to section 2 under such regulations as the Secretary may prescribe, at a price sufficient to cover the cost thereof, including labor, materials, dies, use of machinery, and overhead expenses. Oh, I got to get one of these, for sure. ETA: Attached File |

They should get new uniforms with 6 star epaulets and fancy hats too.

While I doubt will be The CMOH, just a note of history that 8 civilians have been awarded the CMOH. So....it COULD happen.

The Capital erection gets more stupid every day
We need a parade for these heroes |

Can we award a "Medal of Dishonor" for all the LEOs who let the socialist groups riot and don't try to stop them? I guess we would have to award it to the police chiefs and mayors and governors, too.

Quoted: https://www.newsweek.com/senate-unanimously-passes-bill-awarding-capitol-police-medals-honor-january-6-1615802 The Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia will receive Medals of Honor for protecting Congress during the attempted insurrection on January 6, the Senate voted on Tuesday. View Quote View Quote Fantastic. They did a hard job that day. Outnumbered, over-run, under-equipped, without backup, without support, under difficult circumstances, facing violence and anger, and yet by the end of the day the Capitol was secured, with a minimum loss of life, and the business of the people continued. |

How about a death sentence medal for the DA keeping protestors in solitary since Jan. 6th. with an F for fire.
|
|
Quoted: Insurrection. Jesus, shows you how much faith they have in the Capitol police and the people, they think a couple dozen unarmed folks can take over the federal government. I have never been more embarrassed by my country. View Quote That's what I keep asking people - to be an insurrection, there has to be a chance of success. Do people really think a couple dozen unarmed people had a chance at overthrowing the government, or even taking over the Capitol? |

View Quote "Protestors" There were lots of legit protesters on jan 6, folks who did not engage in violence or threats, destruction of property, etc., who just wanted to be seen and heard and get their message across. Those are not the people in jail. |

Will they have a posthumous ceremony for the guys that didn't want to play their game?

They have to keep up the act so the "evil right wing insurrection" narrative stays alive. They will talk about January 6th 2021 for decades. The history books will paint it as the darkest day in modern US history.

Quoted: To be clear, this is the Congressional Gold Medal per other articles, not THE MoH (which they wouldn't be eligible for anyway.) Not that it still not View Quote That's what I thought. The two are often confused. Congress can award their medal to just about anyone they want for any reason. Usually famous people, the golfer Jack Nikolaus has one as an example. Roughly equivalent to the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which the President can award to anyone he wants for any reason the wants. And they have. |

Quoted: While I doubt will be The CMOH, just a note of history that 8 civilians have been awarded the CMOH. So....it COULD happen. View Quote As I recall those were all from the Civil War era. Military doctors were technically civilians at the time as were others that looked like soldiers. I believe the law was changed around 1900 and that is no longer possible. At the same time several hundred MoH were recalled. |

Quoted: I'm assuming the Capitol PD has their own version of "MoH"? EDIT: OP's headline purposfully misworded to engage in distribution of rage porn. "Medals struck pursuant to this Act are national medals for the purposes of chapter 51 of title 31, United States Code." "(b) Design And Striking.—For the purposes of the award referred to in subsection (a), the Secretary of the Treasury (hereafter in this Act referred to as the “Secretary”) shall strike gold medals with suitable emblems, devices, and inscriptions, to be determined by the Secretary (of the Treasury)." Quoted: The charges are on the DOJ website, feel free to look them up. View Quote And the charges against all prior assaults on Federal employees and destruction of Federal property…dropped. Jan. 6th protestors however held in indefinite confinement, denied due process and proper access to competent legal council and a speedy trial in a court of their peers…kinda unconstitutional if you ask me and where’s yer precious SCOTUS right now? |

The agency has its own medals and awards. This is not the CMoH
