I've tired BFG slings in the past, too clunky, $100+. Have started buying these from a gentleman who makes them by hand. He does insanely strong stitching patterns and the quality is just off the charts. I bought one for the SCAR, then another for the SP5K.

Cool thing is, aside from USA made, he has like every pattern of camo ever. He does patterns/prints no one else does.

$30 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115279697171

I like the Magpul MS4 for my AR style rifles. I bought a knockoff from Amazon or eBay trying to save some money, the QD attachments don't hold and release unexpectedly. I've never had any issues with the Magpul ones though.

I like the Allen BakTrak sling for my bolt rifles.

What's the best sling for a small gun like an MP5?

I have a 22lr pistol and a stribog I would like slings for but they seem too short for a two-point sling

BFGs bought on sale ($50-60). WOTG Proctors from the EE (last one I bought was a MultiCam version on the EE for $25).

I have used a cotton web sling and it works well enough if you want to set it up as a cuff. I also have a SAP and Wilderness versions of their cuff slings and they are nice due to the ability to get in and out quickly, but they also work with QDs a little easier than the web sling and allow for quick adjustment for carrying as a standard 2 point sling.

If you don't want a cuff, the Vtac padded sling is nice, or if you don't want padded, the MS3 or MS4 from magpul works too.

I had a few grey ghost gear slings, and they drove me nuts due to the long laser cut material tail that seemed to be way too long and the padded portion seems to end up in a weird spot for me. G slings work well too, I just wish they had a keeper to maintain position when adjusted.

That's what I was going to say. Vickers slings are about as simple as it gets.

Spend another 10 or 20 get a decent sling. And don't buy some bs designed in ww2 unless you're doing a ww 2 nostalgia rifle.

I bought 3 padded Vickers slings a few years ago, I've happy with the one I use but it's a little overkill on that lightweight AR. It'll go fine on my kinda chunky levergun but I'll probably go with something else on that AR. I saw something a while ago I liked- regular thickness but wider on the shoulder portion, cannot remember the brand now.

I have a regular, non adjustable American made sling on a super lightweight AR (pencil barrel upper, 13" HG, KP15 lower, fixed DD irons) that works fine there for all the never I shoot that rifle. It's not even properly on there, I just tied it around the handguard. I think I have a Magpul sling on an AR pistol but it's the same kind of gun- assemble, prove function, sight in, put it away.

BFG VCAS padded is my preference, and that's what's on my ARs and XCRs, but I've found that I''m not really picky.

My M1A and FN-49 both have Turner M1907 slings, the M14 has a GI cotton web sling. I have some nice pieces of nylon webbing that were formerly G3 slings. Gonna git some hardware to make them easily adjustable. Need to pick up a biathlon sling.

I have a Biue Force, V-TAC, and a Slingster.  The Slingster is my favorite because of the way the extra sling material stores.

Magpul MS1 has been my favorite thus far, prefer it over the vickers. Quick adjust tends to slip, but it’s a softer material and rather comfortable to wear over a T-shirt.

Plan on picking up a Trex and flatline fiber co sometime to see if they’re worthwhile.

Appropriate user name is appropriate.

I have a myriad of Magpul MS4 slings is all available colors for most of my rifles, and most firearms have 3 QD sockets (front, mid, rear) when possible.

I have 1907's for both M-1 Garands tho.

I do want to get an Israeli seatbelt sling to see what all the fuss is about.

This ! Awesome slings, I like the Cast Iron.

I have also converted over to home-made soft shackles made from kevlar cord, instead of QDs;
