One of my customers runs an exotic car rental business. They are maintenance whores. I see his NSX for occasional warranty work. He said the NSX is by far the best in that department. His Lamborghinis are a close second. He had one McLaren burn to the ground after the strut leaked on to the turbo and went on about problem after problem with his Ferraris. If a super car built by Acura had a fuel tank recall I don't understand why GD thinks GM can't have one for the C8.

They just want to dog pile GM and crap on them, damn if it makes sense to do so or not.

Also if I could afford one, I'd have a 06 NSX. I'd jack it up by adding forced induction though, centrifugal supercharger for the more linear power delivery so it still felt more like it was still NA, just with more power. Nothing crazy, just a small low boost setup.

It isn't like hydroboosted brakes and hydraulic power steering systems aren't trouble free if the engine stops. Vacuum operated brakes don't work with a stalled engine unless your drivetrain keeps the engine pumping, a lot of autos don't or a manual if you press the clutch.

Old cars [especially American ones] are mechanically, shall we say,  shit boxes. Your SS stock would be eaten by plebeian family cars nowadays in, well, EVERYTHING.

[I'm not giving European makes any passes either, they were more advanced but still unreliable shit boxes, ''Lucas, prince of darkness'' wasn't a common phrase for nothing]

ETA, if you are not plating critical connections or contacts with gold or another corrosion resistant material in an area where corrosion is a factor, you're just a cheap asshole in a monkey suit bean counter or a lousy engineer.

Man. It's so unlike GM to have monkey suit bean counters and lousy engineers.

I hope you're picking up my sarcasm, because I'm laying it on pretty thick.

Bulllllllllshit.

The local GM store has pre-sold all of the C8's they're getting for the next 2 years and nearly every buyer is over 50.  The first one arrived the other day and the proud owner was a fat guy in his late 60's.

For its time the C4 was "okay". It is probably the least attractive of all generations imo.

Yeah. Just like when they took a good portion of the Chromium out of the Brake lines and hardware underneath. Tried to blame the “Rust Belt”. GM is asshoe. Best eject I ever did. Fuck GM.

No. After it fails. Then charge you $87000 to fix since “we have honored our commitment” just like they did with their front hubs on the trucks.

'Brake by wire'?

That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard of on a mass-production vehicle. You know, if the gas pedal stopped working because its not physically connected to the throttle plate, you park it and walk away. If the brake pedal is also electronic and it fails, you could die. This is unbelievable.

Well that’s a short sighted statement. Both daily’s in my house are GM and my previous was a GM. Dads trucks were all GM. I am more than familiar with their product.

My statements were made around the hype of the C8 replacing the exotics in quality and stature.

Please enlighten me on GMs recent history of excellence in product quality.

I’ve been in the C8 it still seems like a vette with euro look to me and idiots paying massive premiums to have one is even more retarded
