They could bump the compression up and make it an E85 motor. With LS style BBC heads, they'll probably try to sell it for 35k.

Since it's a drag motor it is begging for a Powerglide.

3,200hp Viper running a 2-speed Powerglide:

There's also some 3,000+hp Vipers running PPG sequential trannies but at events like the Texas Mile there's a fair chance they end up with a box of neutrals.

So who makes a transmission that can hold this kind of HP/TQ?

I'd guess that Powerglide need to be specialy built for that kind of power.

As a kid I had a '68 Firebird with a 350 that I installed a Tri-Power on. Powerglide tranny. 2.73 rear end. Couldn't smoke a tire but hit 145+ easily.
My dumb self buried the pedal one night with it in Lo.
At about 75 MPH it shifted itself into Drive, broke the tires loose and sent me into a ditch.
The pole I side swiped was the death certificate for my poor car.

The motor ended up in some guy's Studebaker pick up build.

Some of us just dont care.   My 66 is running long tubes, xpipe, and 3 inch black widow mufflers.    When it uncorks everyone in the world will hear it doing 5500-6500 rpm.

What would be a period correct chassis for that?

The first thing that comes to mind is a 50s shoebox or truck build, but I don’t know…

I know what 400ish in 2800 pounds sounds like...

Atleast until my cam pin sheered and now have to rebuild the engine.

I’m happy with 700 in 3600lbs.
