Locally, the school district requires that you use the student’s name and the gender that is on their birth certificate. If the student doesn’t like it, they always have the option to go to court to have the data changed.

Fairfax schools have been in the news over stuff like this for how many years? And that's one of the richest counties in the country? Sorry, if they aren't homeschooling or in a private school by this point, then they're asking for it.

Somebody changes their name regardless of the reason and it takes people awhile to adjust. Chick got married in the Army and guys would be using her maiden name off and on for 6 months as they adjusted. Wasn't malicious. |
