I am considering buying one of these. Colt M5 Dors anyone have one yet? |

I haven't been impressed with Colt's new stuff or their CS. This is coming from first hand experience with 2 recent mfg. brand new uppers. Hopefully my experience was a fluke. But, for that kind of money, I'd look elsewhere. Hell, I got a brand new Triarc rifle in stock for the same price. |

The upper/barrel attachment is completely different in the M5. New design barrel nut, receiver extension, and handguard interface. It is for sure an upgrade. The rail cannot be installed at any other position than 100% aligned with the upper, can't rotate, and will be much stronger and won't droop. Also, the barrel can only be installed with the gas port being 100% vertical. |

I was comparing the two similar M4 vs M5 and could only surmise from ‘Colts Marketing’ that they added a (  So M5 New design barrel nut New receiver extension New handguard interface New rail Ambi Lower. Innovation isn't really their strong suit. |
