if you look at the rest of the pics in the OP's original post link, the ones with the smile/teeth showing somehow look "off". the rest look pretty damn near like a photograph

Crazy tech. Teach a machine learning algorithm how to detect what a person, dog, cat, etc looks like from existing pictures. Run it in reverse and have it generate the image of whatever subject you want. Yes it's real.

https://interestingengineering.com/this-person-does-not-exist-website-is-a-creepy-look-into-the-future Open the website thispersondoesnotexist, and you'll find a headshot of a stranger. At first glance it looks like someone got the HR records from work and stuck them on a website, refreshing the site regenerates another face of a person you might know. Except you don't, and no one does. Because each of the faces on this site is totally fake, created by using a special kind of artificial intelligence algorithm called generative adversarial networks (GANs). |

On the bright side there won't be any need for actors and actresses any more.

Quoted: The face is very well done, but there's a couple issues that make it easy to spot as a 'fake': 1) The seam between the CGI-rendered face and the neck/body (which presumably is a real photograph) needs work. Check out the 'shadow line' along her lower jaw... same in all images and doesn't match the lighting/shadows of the photos. 2) The eyes have the same 'expression' in each image. They need to vary a bit more. View Quote There is nothing in those images that is a real photograph. It is entirely CGI |

Quoted: Is this the same as Unreal Engines MetaHumans? Besides needing a metahuman to take my place on company zoom calls, AI technology is getting pretty fucking scary IMO. View Quote Are you a cat? |

Man hasn't figured out how to make a cell phone battery that's worth a shit, I don't think this is much of a concern in our lifetime or our children's for that matter.

Quoted: This is actually terrifying, a few more decades and we won't be able to tell apart fake CGI people from the real thing anymore. https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/a/5/f/a5f038ea71b95f14cf083a11076be3e76724ad72.jpeg https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/f/3/0/f30097a53c04223db6062b191b810c4942a306fb.jpeg https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/3/f/b/3fb9d85639ffa10c6e3608afc62ca2c220532a63.jpeg https://blenderartists.org/uploads/default/original/4X/0/8/3/0832b68ef41287b5395bbbc091db650d43fb3d13.jpeg https://blenderartists.org/t/newest-photoreal-renders/1290285 View Quote |

I'm pretty sure they're making movies for netflix with this stuff. Couple weeks back I counted no less than 4 movies with the same non existent actress.

View Quote The extreme irony in that story is that "she" truly loved him. Enough to forfeit "herself" to save him. |

I will die of laughter when the Hollywood elites are put out of work by some rendered actor. Fuck em.

Quoted: If they were going to go that far, couldn't they hack your phone to put you in any location that they want you to be? View Quote It's asymmetrical. Hacking a phone or mobile device can vary in level of difficulty depending on circumstances. An image or video could be created without ever even coming into contact with or actively engaging you. They could kill you, figuratively or literally, without ever firing a shot. Consider how malware campaigns work today. Not all attacks are specifically targeted. A large percentage are opportunistic where someone has gone out and purchased an attack package from a broker and got into fire-and-forget mode. There is no reason why something like this couldn't eventually make it to that level; a template package where all that is needed is a few seed videos or images are compiled and out comes a AI-generated video of someone doing a thing. |

The eyes and depth of field (especially around the face) are off in #1, 3 and 4.
2 looks more real because it's a little fuzzy and less "perfect". Weird. |

Quoted: We will, absolutely, reach a point of inability to distinguish. Her hand on face is a bit funky, has the plastic look, but the major issue I see, is actually not the woman, per se, but the inconsistencies in the depth of field. There are things that should be in focus based on the same plane, and things that shouldn't, and that is screwy in a few places. Shadows and reflections are the next things that need a tweak, but it is definitely scary good, and is only going to get better. View Quote Vagina? |

why did it make it so ugly? soulless ginger is appropriate though.

Quoted: This actually creates a solid reasonable doubt argument for almost all child porn prosecutions. Most of the time, the actual children are not found and therefore cannot testify that they are in fact the people in the images. View Quote |
