Not nearly as edgy as the guys cheering dead Russians in the other thread.

I'm pro-American.

I believe the average American is better served with a good relation with Russia than a hostile one. I believe Putin is rational and can be engaged with strength to strength.

I believe that we Americans have no fight with the Syrians or even Iranians and they are not threatening to us.

You tell me.

Lets find out.

Ba'athist ideology was spawned by an adoration of Nazi Germany. The Ba'ath Party was National Socialism, but for Arabs not Germans.

@bland85

Do you still support Assad as the rightful ruler of Syria?

Yes or No

Israeli reporters with ties to the military keep saying the event in the north is ongoing, yet residents in the Golan were told things are back to normal. Sounds to me like they're implying that more details, currently censored, are forthcoming.

No, I just think this whole thing is none of our damn business, and that Assad is the best option in the Area.

What, you want ISIS or Obama's Mythical "Moderate" Islamists in charge?

ETA:

My position is the position that results  in 0 Dead Americans.
Lets say there were 100 people in your little town. You're the mayor. Your faction represents a whopping 15% of the towns population, yet you've managed to remain in power because of old political wrangling. Meanwhile, 70 of the towns people despised your leadership so badly they know want you dead.

Tell me how you and your 15 are the best option for your towns 100. In what universe is that going to work?

Hint, benevolent dictators work when they represent the majority, not the tiny minority.

Wow, amazing amount of ignorance you managed to cram into a single post. And you know  nothing about Syrian history and yet so sure of yourself.  Dunning Kruger is da house!

Before you start playing SECSTATE ask how Assad's daddy took power, why he was successful, what kept the peace for so long, and what changed, especially in the 90s, that sealed the fate of any Alawite attempting to control Syria. I know for a fact you can't answer any of these answers. Like I know without googling you couldn't tell me who created the modern state of Syria, from where did it come, and how it took its shape. I bet you couldn't tell me current Assad's dad's name.

Ba'athist were national socialists for Arabs. As long as they weren't white colonists they were supposed to be treated all the same, be they Sunni or Shia Muslim, Christan, etc. But ultimately Assad regime proved only loyal to their own tribe from their own ethnicity and told the rest of the country to deal with his oppression against them or his secret police would kill them. Same thing Saddam did (also a Ba'athist), same as Gaddafi (who practiced something similar).

Now Assad's secret police are dead or hiding in Europe and there is no fucking way Sunni Arabs, or even Kurds would ever unite under Assad or any Alawite. So you keep wishing in one hand for peace under Assad, shitting in the other, see which fills up first.

Losing an F16 and an Apache, if true, is a pretty serious development.  It makes one wonder if the Syrians have been holding back on some of the prior Israeli strikes.

Cowards answer, also mentioning family in arfcom is a no no. But what eves.

You already stated before you believed "Assad is the best option in the Area."

Now you've been made  aware he's an Arab Nazi who went tribal in politics while relying on whopping ~15-20% of his country to have his back, while pissing off rest, who finally kicked off rebellion brewing for decades.

So now that your knowledge is broadened, does your ignorant ass opinion change?

Lets see here.

Russia looks out for Russia, not necessarily hostile, but it certainly does not have our interest at heart.

Our saving grace is a strong leader, and someone that Putin is willing to deal with, rather than milquetoast leaders that he knows he could intimidate.

Putin and by extension Russia can be bargained with, so I'll give you that.

Americans have no fight with the Syrians or even Iranians and they are not threatening to us.
On this I will disagree, the Muslim, especially the ones that can't wait for the 12th Imam (as rulers in Iran do) believe in bringing about the Apocalypse by any means, even better if it involves the demise of the U.S.A.

This ruling class has the means, money, and ability to finance strikes against us that would make 9-11 pale in comparison.

Why they haven't yet is that they are waiting for the perfect time, had Clinton/Sanders or another weak president been in office, they would be ready to strike.

With a wild card in office, they are scared, Trump may very well be the only thing saving us from attacks, along with a strong military.

The United States is a country that threatens EVERY principal that the Muslims believe in, from equal rights, to freedom of speech, and they will do whatever it takes to destroy us.

If not through all out war, then by immigration and our willingness to allow their assimilation.

To them, Sharia law will rule, and nothing else matters.

You're ignorant or deceitful. Israelis went north because their airspace was violated by a Iranian drone, after shooting it down they went after the controller, at which point their strike aircraft were attacked by SAMs. You keep skipping this initial part. Because what?

So you'd be ok with the Soviets chasing a U2 and striking a base of ours in the 70s and 80s?

If the Izzys shot down the drone while it was over Israel... whatever.

If they chased it into Syria, and blew up some shit along the way, then got shot down, thats entirely different is it not?
