boy, it sure makes a taxpayer proud to see someone getting to drive something that I'll never experience. If only I work a little harder in the future, maybe someday they'll get an even  BETTER car !

Clayton Co. used to have a Ford F450 running around. Not sure what they used it for but it was pretty badass. Black on black with the police decals/logos.

Houston has one also.

You can't pull over another brodozer in a camery.

Actually they pull the mobile dui lab around with it I think.

But technically not a car, nor technically cops.  Different vehicle and different job.

C5 Z06

C6

CTS

XLR

4th gen Camaro

All are Bloomfield Hills PD. If I remember right, the XLR was donated by whoever did the lights and was used only for special events. The Corvette's, Camaro, and CTS I have seen on the road personally. Mainly special event use, but some, particularly the Camaro, were used for normal patrol. They have or used to have a group of sports cars in their fleet, mostly Corvettes. I think they also had a Porsche 911, but I could be thinking a different department.

Trans Am WS6

From Purdue University. From what I remember, it was the cops personally owned car originally. Used for special events and to crack down on a street racing problem they had.

Wouldn't doubt it. Local DNR field office to me has an HUMVEE converted to a grass rig for firefighting.

Back in the mid 90's in Little Rock Ak I saw a C4 dressed up for police duties.  Low profile lights and everything.

One of the late rear wheel drive Caprice's with the 9C1 package.  A friend had one that he personally owned.  That car would haul ass, and got 22 MPG.

Back then, they simply couldn't be outrun......I watched them chase down many a big block mopar/chevy/ford/etc across the (old) Gandy bridge in Tampa........The Trans Ams were slugs.........Hillsborough Co. drove 360 4-bbl Dodges (St. Regis) that couldn't get out of their own way........

I really miss hearing the sound of a Carter Thermoquad the instant you kicked the secondaries in........

I actually saw this car back in 1976.  Scottsdale, AZ Police Department.  It's a Bricklin SV-1, they didn't keep them long, not very practical.

FTW

It was the fastest one in the district, probably in the state. I always said that it was a piece of sheetmetal wrapped around a bomb. I once jumped a Corvette on 29 north of Opelika. It was a mountain road – curvy, hills, little streams with bridges across them – and I ran about five miles on that terrain right up with him. Finally, he pulled over and I had every intention of dragging him out and throwing him in jail, but when I saw him, he was just shaking all over, so I just gave him a reckless endangerment ticket and told him I never wanted to see him around there anymore.

Of course, I was young and still had my Superman suit, so I’d do stupid things too. This one time I had to drive down to Montgomery, which was about 60 miles down Interstate 85, and I wanted to see how fast I could make it. Twenty-seven minutes later I was parking in Montgomery. Well, I gassed up for the return trip and figured I’d try to beat that time. About five or six miles out of Montgomery, at about 140 mph, I passed a semi, one of those flat-nosed rigs. Just as I passed it, the air coming off the semi raised the front end of that Javelin straight off the ground. If God wanted to take me then, that would have been a perfect time to do it, but I thank Him every day that he just let the front end of that car right back down. Nobody ever had to tell me not to pull a stunt like that again.
And as for that time Tim borrowed his Javelin?

I was off that night, and Tim and another trooper borrowed my car. About 8 p.m., the phone rang. It was Tim, and he asked me if I wanted to know how fast my Javelin would go. I told him yeah, and he said the other trooper clocked him with the radar at 158 mph. They weren’t exactly busy that night, were they?

Fairfield, AL is known to take confiscated drug cars and turn them into police cars. I saw their 911 car before.

This is Hoover, AL but it looks about the same. They (Fairfield) also have a ton of stuff like a Lexus on 20's with pitch black tint for undercover work.

This is the coolest I've seen in person though.
