Every person in my department and I think St. Louis county had to take a continuing ed class at the police academy on how to deal with people like that and people having a mental health crisis.
if you became a cop to wip peoples asses, lock folks up and push people around you are going to have a short career. Even before all this woke shit there were plenty of departments that had zero tolerance for shit that looked bad on TV or citizen complaints |

Jesus Christ that was hard to watch. This is one of those situations where in Minecraft I wouldn't shed a single tear if, in the game, one or more of those cops got clapped, in Minecraft.

Disabled guy is lucky he didn’t also quote the Bible while being arrested on the sidewalk.
Target should also take some heat for calling the cops, unless this guy was doing something else wrong. |

I think the disabled guy was trying to put his cash in the checkout machine but it was too crumped for the machine to take. A Target employee should have come over and asked to help. If the machine couldn't accept his cash the employee should have offered to exchange the cash into a gift card and let him use the gift card to checkout instead. Amazing how the target employees just decided to call the cops and have him removed instead.

Quoted: I will try to help them too, yes, but one of the recurring themes I've noticed is that they'll pull out insufficient funds, and fumble around with it, for minutes on end, until another customer pays, or someone in management finally decides that it's simpler to allow them to walk out with the goods, while paying no money for them - because you'd be a monster if you took some destitute man's last dollar. It's heartbreaking to see them pull up with not enough money. It's heartbreaking to see them struggle with the math. It's heartbreaking to see that they don't know they have insufficient funds. It's heartbreaking to see that somebody else has to pay for the stuff that they guy, himself, wanted to pay for, with his own money. It's heartbreaking to then see the same guy walk over to a Western Union and pull out a transfer of way more funds than what his shortfall was a few minutes earlier. It's heartbreaking to see that if he had just changed up the order of his day, he would have been ok. It's all heartbreaking until Verbal Kint goes into the next store and does the same. They have readily identifiable cognitive issues, yes. But, they know what they are doing. In general. View Quote Yeah I know exactly what you mean and of those you are discussing. Maybe the Democrat cities hiring illegals to be cops are on to something. Even an illegal would most likely have more compassion.

The real fun part is going to be the civil suits against the officers. New Mexico abolished qualified immunity two years ago. Hopefully that guy gets a decent legal team together. As an officer in that state, standing there and letting bad shit happen will probably not go well either.

Now I'll probably get called an ACAB person, but I know most of the officers in the area I would do it, and it would be more about trolling the public. Last time I got stopped for Open Carry in a grocery store, was so the cop could give me shit for carrying a revolver. I'd known him for about 5 years. Target is going to get sued and pay this guy a lot of money. You have to make reasonable accommodation to give a person with a disability access to the same services a non-disabled person would have. Businesses must provide people with disabilities an equal opportunity to access the goods or services that they offer. For example, as a business, you must: Communicate with people with disabilities as effectively as you communicate with others. Make reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures where needed. To make sure that a person with a disability can access the businesses' goods or services. Allow service animals to be with their person even if you have a no pets policy. Follow specific standards for physical accessibility when building or altering a building or facility. Having had several interactions with the BCSO, including calling in an active shooter, I'd rather have the mafia in control. The abject stupidity I've personally witnessed has been bizarre. I've had formal L.E. training, these guys don't appear to have had any. And two of their female deputies, all of 4ft 8in tall and maybe 100 lbs are not who I'd want responding to an incident of physical violence.
