The only one that comes to mind is using compensators on "tactical" rifles. I initially installed compensator suppressor mounts when I got my rifle suppressor. While they certainly work, holy mother of God are they loud. My ears seriously ring when only wearing muffs. Even doubling up, they are noticeably loud. They make my teeth rattle. I swapped them out for flash hiders pretty quick.
On the other hand, there have been lots of things arfcom recommends that I thought were stupid or a waste of money until I tried them. Optics on defensive rifles. My initial background was NRA smallbore and highpower. It took my best friend taking me shooting a lot with nice optics to realize their value. Barrels shorter than 20'' in 223. I honestly clung onto the long barrel theory until I got a suppressor and studied the ballistics more closely. Good news is all of my shooting experience as a child prepared me well for dealing with the length of a 16'' barreled carbine with a sound suppressor. ![]() Night vision. Rifle suppressors. All the lumens when it comes to weapon lights. Red dots on defensive handguns. Compensators on carry handguns. |

Bosch Icon wiper blades. They were amazing, for about 3 months. Meh. When I first got them, I was amazed at how it kept rain off the windshield. But in the cold, they suck. And I always clean my windshield of snow and ice before driving, so it's not that they were getting beat up from running over ice on the windshield or pushing mass amounts of snow. |

I have pondered many a night of starting this exact thread, Thankfully it wasn't me. Over the years I have drunk posted a few too many thread that earned me the "herp-derp" and felt as though i had prematurely ejaculated ... Too many nights I have read shit that had me reaching for the credit card...Fucking arfcom! My earliest memory is of a great big box of Cproduct mags..aluminum, SS, all but one unused. Then there was the night that the bad sunsetted....I bought three LE marked 6920's. and many others! BAN,..not Bad edit Although i have some regrets, These arfadvice purchaces are not among them. I don't consume the alcohol any more, and still rarely start a thread. But I am glad you did. Oh,...and for you ice lovers....try living in the northwest. We get ICECICLES. Oh Dear View Quote |

C-Products Mags (pre-ASC, pre-current C Products). First few I got with the original marlube finish were good, but then the finish on my later mags were pretty bad. It would slow or stop the follower. Then they went out of business. I've had pretty good luck with the hive's recommendations overall. Some have been "meh" (like gear sector slings) but still useable. |
