The sky is indeed falling. 40 right now here in the frozen arctic wasteland that is northern mn. They say it will get cold and snow, in December. Imagine that. Having your generator ready is really a good idea. I never seem to work on mine till the power is out. I hope things go well for you op. |

Minnesota has never had a tornado in December. Crazy shit.
I'm sure this is all a coincidence though. Massive Tornado outbreak in Kentucky in December. 60 degrees up here in Michigan for a few days. Never seen anything like this. I distinctly remember seeing 10-20 foot high snow drifts that were plowed in late October when I was a kid. That doesn't happen anymore either. |

It came through NM late last night and early this morning. Governor or at least our county doing a state of emergency. Our little neck of the woods got a bit hammered. Roofs off, mobile home blown over, trees down. Not as bad as the poor folks in Kentucky last weekend,
but significant disruptions from the normal. My ISP is down (may be extended), but the backup stuff is working. Had a nice morning of coffee and chatting with my neighbors, who I have helped get prepared with backup solar and battery. So for us it was a good chance to test preps. |

Sleet/rain/snow followed by high winds. Over 250 power poles were snapped off. One pole near me had the top 3/4 stuck upside down in a field over 50 feet away from its origin.
