I have no idea, but I wouldn't put anything past them. We're so far down the rabbit hole these days you have no way of knowing what's real and not real anymore. Which I think is kind of the whole point. Lets them get away with pretty much anything. I think it all kind of goes back to the thing about if you're going to tell a lie make it a big one.
This little gem was about thirty years ago, and I wouldn't say their integrity or believability has increased any since then. |

Some of the "storm" footage in the US is probably some of the best examples we have of local stations doing it. |

I watched a local new crew choreograph a dozen or so protesters to give the appearance of a much larger crowd when the governor came to town. I regret not getting some video of it as it was a bit comical. Considering this was a local station in fly over country I could see a big network like CNN coaching locals to get the story they would like. They may not be crisis actors, but I wouldn't doubt they would encourage by standers that were not really involved to give them the sound bights they are looking for.
