-3/66, I can't stand much warmer than that inside during the winter.
Going to church, running errands for the wife and then coming home to unpack. Thankfully we moved into the new house before the weather set in. |

-5º out 78º inside. Light snow on the ground. WINDY!! Delta of 83. Its COLD for Mo but we usually get a cold snap every year where it hovers around 0º for a few days. We had a stretch 5?? yrs ago where we had snow and -15º and that never happens here in Mid MO

Delta T is 79F, windchill would bring it right to 98F.
Sunny, beautiful morning. We're wide open in the middle of 600 acres of corn, no wind barrier and getting slammed by wind. 1873 brick house. Currently -3 outside with a 17mph NW wind. Windchill is -22F. Inside is a comfy 76F. OWB is roaring on free firewood from the pallet company next town over. Inlet water temp to the house is 194F. Propane cycled a few times between 3am-8am to keep us above 70F as I didn't load the OWB until after my second coffee. Dogs like it outside even on these cold days, temp inside the dog house right now is reading 18F. They're on the front porch, in the sun, out of the wind. I have the living room fireplace running for the radiant warmth and atmosphere, the kids really enjoy these cozy mornings

It's 5 outside, thermostat is set at 68. It's only that low because Avista, our power and gas provider sent out a bulletin saying they were having problems with their gas supply chain that they hoped to have resolved in 24 hours...
Not what you want to hear when your furnace and both fireplaces are gas. Low tonight is -6...it would suck balls to run out. If we come out of this alive I guess I'm getting at least one oil-filled electric roll-around for a backup. Nvrmd...it's resolved. Back to 72 she goes. |

15 outside / 70 inside. Relatively moderate weather here in KY, but we do have 4 seasons. While we don't get weather as extreme as some other places, we are typically less equipped to handle it. These temperatures, we can handle. Once it gets about 10-15 degrees colder is when things start getting interesting. Power starts going out from heat pumps switching over to electric heat strips, pipes start freezing and bursting, etc. We have some light snow tonight, so I'm sure the people that have no idea how to drive in the snow will be out in force tomorrow morning.

69 bottom floor, 67 upstairs (Basically not running). Outside temp is 9 with lots of powdery snow.
Got a space heater in the side attic blowing on the water pipes every 30 minutes. It’s 23 in there right now. Wish I could get my Mr heater working!! |
