I think I like Forrest Gump a little bit better than Days of Thunder

Never did, and still don’t, have any interest in NASCAR. Or even racing in general. But I’ve always enjoyed the movie. The wheel chair race that turns into the rental car race and ends up two smashed up cars is a great scene.

I was born in 86, and my brother in 88. We probably watched that movie 100s of times on vhs. Classic.
As weird as Tom is, he sure has some good films out there. |

I watched it a dozen times growing up. It’s a good movie. Is it a perfect movie? I don’t know. I enjoyed watching it, but prefer top gun, old school, and tropic thunder more

Hell, I even went on the ride at Six Flags or Universal, can't remember which, I liked it so much as a kid.

I heard that they initially had like a $10M or $20M budget and tore up like 5 dozen race cars in no time. Took longer to film and the cost soared to like $60M. That's a lot of dough in 1990.

I remember seeing the movie cars at the tail end of the pack at Dover.
They would run about 5 or 10 laps, and then get off the track before the leaders caught up to them. I could never get into the movie, it was just too corny for me. |

Cruise may be a little nutty, but you have to admire his dedication to his craft.

"Because you've hit every other goddamned thing out there, I want you to be perfect."
I also remember the ride at Kings Dominion. Also had Days of Thunder floppy disc PC game and racing simulator |

I thought it was like top gun for nascar. All it lacked was the volleyball.
