The Romeo Pros have an auto on off feature. If it sits for 2 minutes it shuts off. The slightest movement turns it on. So, as a carried duty gun, it is always on Yes, why wouldn't you want it on? Once you hang up your belt, it turns off after 2 minutes. |

Their previous pistols were p229 with DAK triggers chambered in ,357 View Quote It’s strange, I’m actually looking at a P229 in .357 Sig just to mess around with. I have a few cases of .357 Sig that have been knocking around in the safe for a few years. I figure it will be a good chance to get some range time in. Seems I missed the boat on all the cheap police trade in P229s though. |

Quoted: The P320 is fine. It is an excellent duty pistol and is currently serving all over the US and world in both military and law enforcement in that capacity. Their optic choice though, the Romeo 1 Pro is just pants on head retarded. The R1P isn't drop safe, it WILL break if dropped. It just isn't a good optic. By the time they pay to replace optics twice over they could have just bought Trijicon RMRs. Really Sig missed an opportunity. They developed their Romeo 2 and have been testing it for a few years. This would have been a great chance to get some out in the field and tested. The Romeo 2 shows a lot of promise. It is made at Sigs Oregon facility. They developed the optic with Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics. I am really optimistic that it will be a good little red dot. Quoted: Better not drop ‘em! View Quote Flashback to the bad old days. I was shooting at the state range in New Castle. You signed in, and if you were some sort of law enforcement or corrections, you didn't have to pay the small fee to shoot. One other lane was occupied by an odd couple: he was 6' and maybe 100lb, she was 5' and no less than 200lb. She was the only female there and the sign-in had her as DSP and badge number. I get into the lane next to them. Cold range, so we set up our targets. Line went hot and I started with a .22. The couple didn't shoot. I leaned back to peek, and the range officer was explaining to them how to work the brand new P229 the DSP had just adopted in .357Sig. Somehow, I wasn't surprised by an undertrained, overweight trooper with a tweeker boyfriend. At the time, I was a recoil junkie. I liked to make really big noised with my S&W 629. I had some ridiculous Federal stuff that made concrete dust drift out of the ceiling and I'm sure shortened the service life of that revolver. One range officer had said in his drill sergeant voice, "Son, you are obscenely loud!" Best compliment ever. If I didn't come home with a bruise on the web of my hand. I wasn't SHOOTING. I scoured the local gun shops looking for heavier and faster rounds. I have matured since then. Sorta. The couple finally got the Sig to shoot, and the RO was instructing them on why the black part of the target was important and how holes should be there after shooting. I took aim and touched off the monster. The partitions rattled, my fillings rattled, flame shot out the end of the gun and the RO yells, "OH, SHIT!" I put down my revolver and stepped back, thinking I had to explain, and there was Trooper Hambeast picking up her new gun off the floor and looking at me, severely rattled. The RO was sweating a lot even for a hot Delaware day in a concrete box. He told her to pack it up and come back another day; I had made her drop her gun. So when you say don't drop them, they may need that advice. |

Wonder how different the scores would've been if they switched from P229 357sig DAK to P320 in 9mm with no RDS. Just curious. I'm sure it takes most officers a while to be able to shoot 357sig effectively and it seems most dont train and practice as often as they should. Whereas 9mm is much easier to shoot fast and accurately.
