What a way to end 'Black History Month".
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/deontay-wilder-40-pound-costume-tyson-fury Deontay Wilder put on quite a spectacle as he walked down to the ring to face Tyson Fury for the WBC heavyweight title Saturday night, but by Monday he was pointing at the elaborate costume he wore as the reason for his heavy defeat. Wilder, nicknamed the "Bronze Bomber," said the outfit was a tribute to Black History Month. The costume, which included a helmet and a mask, weighed about 40 pounds, he said. “He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is ... that my uniform was way too heavy for me,” Wilder told Yahoo Sports. “I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through. But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior. It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything. A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things. I tried my best to do so. I knew I didn’t have the legs because of my uniform. |

Guy’s a hell of a fighter.
I walked across Norway with 80+ pounds on my back. Didn’t feel like I couldn’t afterwards. You just hot your ass kicked, D. |

Hmmm........interesting he says in so many words that Fury's punches didn't affect his legs.

Looks more like he forgot to put air holes in that mask.
The only real warrior is Fleece Johnson. |

A professional boxer doesn't have the legs to carry 40 pounds? Bullshit.
Dude probably got wasted the night before. |
|
Yeah, if I was a professional fighter, my legs would be shot after carrying 40 lbs around for a few minutes too.
I, for one, am extremely grateful our soldiers and Marines don't have to carry more than 40 lbs around for less than an hour, or they'd most certainly be combat ineffective when arriving to the party... |

Might have gone differently if he had not had his ear drum smashed early on. Fighting with that would make it pretty hard

Reportedly cost $40,000.
So when this dumbass millionaire becomes another dumbass former millionaire, what will he blame that on? |

He's not dumb, even though he came up with the dumbest excuse ever, he's trying to sell the next fight.
I think he should let Fury fight Joshua. He should fight some bum whom he can destroy and impress the world as the #1 contender. Then he should fight the winner of Joshua/Fury. If Joshua wins, he fights Joshua, for HUGE $$$$$ and he has a built in trilogy for huge $$$ with Fury. The Joshua fight is where the big $$$$ are. A three man contest would be huge $$$$ for everyone. |

Yeah, it was your gen-u-ine Wakanda® battle gear costume that did it. Suuuuuuuuuuure.

If he was on the way to a fight with the Power Ranger he'd have been OK.
All that reach and no jab is why he lost. |

I know just how he feels. I have 9 pound $100 level 4 plates.

Fury shifted gears on him and he couldn't hold up against it. Different trainer, different approach, designed to completely gas an opponent. I seriously doubt anyone could have gone the distance against him that night. Wilder needs to just man up and admit he ran into a buzz saw.
They will have a rematch. It'll sell lots of tickets and pay per views. No excuses necessary. |
|
This is all about setting up a nice payday for that 3rd fight. That's probably already been said .

After watching the brief workout vid, I can see how he would blame fatigued legs.
My only question is, how in the world is that "costume" in any way representative of Black History Month? Is it from Black Panther? |

Agreed, but his pride is making him push for a(nother) rematch with Fury. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
