I have to say, that's some get up a wrestler south of the border would wear before a match.

It looked more like a ballroom dancing lesson at Arthur Murray than a fight. I was disappoint.

A home building company we used to work for had a mascot with a similar costume, as far as bulk and construction is concerned(I think it was built by the company who used to/still does make all the Disney Land/World character costumes).  Most of the time we couldn't be in it more than 15-20 minutes max.  It was like walking around in a sauna while wearing an old style diving suit.  The home building company would pull the costume out for trade shows and the like.

This was around 2005-2012 or so iirc.

Didn’t feel like I couldn’t afterwards.

I'm old and don't exercise, and can still carry a 55 pound sack of feed 100 yards without feeling wasted afterwards...

What a pathetic excuse.

Victim History Month.
How many organizations exist in boxing?   Saw this one on YT..  It was a pathetic show of two people with no skills.  Reminded me of a pool money match.  I think it was a race to 10 for the cash.  Both were paid to dump the game.  It was a race to see who could lose without being obvious. Ha.  Finally,  one of the players had an idea.  He just collapsed on the floor, pretended to have a heart attack to call off the bet.  lol

Haven't really paid much attention to HW boxing in a long time, but decided to watch this fight.

Came away thinking how unimpressive these guys are and just how badly Tyson, Holmes, Foreman, Frazier exc.. would absolutely destroy them.

What a way to end 'Black History Month".

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/deontay-wilder-40-pound-costume-tyson-fury

https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2020/02/1862/1048/Deontay-Wilder4.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

Deontay Wilder put on quite a spectacle as he walked down to the ring to face Tyson Fury for the WBC heavyweight title Saturday night, but by Monday he was pointing at the elaborate costume he wore as the reason for his heavy defeat.

Wilder, nicknamed the "Bronze Bomber," said the outfit was a tribute to Black History Month. The costume, which included a helmet and a mask, weighed about 40 pounds, he said.

“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is ... that my uniform was way too heavy for me,” Wilder told Yahoo Sports. “I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through. But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior. It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything. A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things. I tried my best to do so. I knew I didn’t have the legs because of my uniform.

I wouldn't want to send my fighter or go into a fight myself after a 25 yard hike packing an extra 40 lbs.  I'm not saying that's why he lost but it was a dumb thing to do.

It was.  I wouldn’t want him expending any unnecessary energy before a fight, but Wilder wanted to be flashy and cool.

Lol.  Joe Greene could dominate in today's NFL too right?   Most on that list would be lucky to land a flush punch.

Like I said- I think fury has hands like bowling balls, but he moves like he’s got cement blocks on his feet.

The costume wasn’t the cause, it’s was his poor boxing skills. At least jab and hold young gloves up to protect your face. Does anyone even want to see a third flight between these two? Tyson was poking him the whole night like target practice.

Funny. Me and several of the people who watched the fight have previously worn costumes similar to that.  As soon as we saw him wearing it we all commented that he had to be gassed just from the ring entrance.  Once he took off the mask our suspicions were pretty much confirmed.

Guess we were right.

So you and your not in as good shape friends and half the strength of Wilder had a hard time with heavy costumes. How exactly does that compare?

Lol the point is its a heavy costume that would tire anyone no matter their physical condition.  We were wearing this thing when we were in our early/mid teens.  Most of us were varsity or junior varsity at the time.  Even though thats no where near the shape that Wilder was in I'd say we were all in pretty damn good shape for our age.  If you've ever worn a costume of this nature you'd understand otherwise you are just talking out your ass.

Ok let me 'splain it to you in a different way:

Lets say there is a pile of 25, 25 pound rocks that all have to be moved about 50 yards.  Its an easy task but you'll be slightly winded after.  Now have Wilder do that task too.  Again he would be slightly winded too, not as winded as you or me but somewhat winded.

That is all I am saying.  A costume of that nature will wear the user out, some more than others, some less but it will still wear the person out.

Understand?  Also where are you getting this tough guy crap from or are you just projecting?

There are many professional opinions from everyone in the boxing industry that say the tired leg theory is full of crap. It doesn't count for jack with someone in that kind of shape.

That is not projecting that is just calling out what you said. Aka, talking out of your ass.

Im not saying its the reason he lost, he looked like utter dog shit most of the fight.  Im just saying it could be an underlying reason in the column of many reasons why he lost.  No one can say wearing a 40 pound plus costume "helped" him, it would only have negative consequences.
