Grew up a lot. Got my shit together. Started stacking cash and smashing ass.
I remember my dad telling me that I’d start really having fun in my late 20s and my early 30s. He was right. |

Started getting old. It's impressive how badly I can hurt myself in stupid, mundane ways now. I used to be constantly walking away unscathed from off-road motorcycle accidents. Now it takes surgery to fix things up after I climb out the bed of my pickup truck and land a little awkwardly.
And I'm not even 30 yet.

It's the mid mid life crisis time.
I learned a new trade, fell in love, fell out of love, heartbroken, quit smoking, went bald, drank too much, had some great hunting trips and deep sea fishing. It's sort of the time when you first feel old in the body which can be humbling. 31 here. When I was 27 I didn't know if I'd make it to 30. |

Enlisted in the USAF just short of 27.
Took an assigned to Okinawa. Sent TDY to the Philippines, Guam, Japan (proper), Australia... Huge eye-opener from a cloistered life in NC. Took an assignment to the UK at 29. Fell in love with England, married a Brit. Changed the course of my life (for the better, I might add  )

Became an honest strategic leader in the US Army in Afghanistan changing national policy with general officers to meet our SOFA agreement with Afghanistan. Led me to do what I'm doing now in my civilian career.

Had a baby.
My mother died from cancer. Got laid off. Got divorced. Had to move to another state for work. Sold my house. Lost my father to heart attack. Got a new job. Got married for the second time. Bought a house. Hell of a couple years for me. Grew up a lot. |
