I never thought of him as one to produce gut busting laughter, like Rodney Dangerfield, but he was entertaining to watch nonetheless.  My favorite films with him are Hot Stuff, a little known piece filmed in Florida also starring Jerry Reed, and Smokey and the Bandit II, where DeLuise cares for the pregnant elephant.

Was OK in certain roles but I never thought of him as being naturally funny like John Candy could be.

For the day he was in......Yes, and was great with Burt.

Yeah, but not entirely my cup of tea.  Like Steve Martin and Jim Carrey, it gets old, quickly.

I did at the time, but I was far younger and most humor was far more innocent than today.  I've been ruined.

Watch cannon ball run and the bloopers and you can see that they

had a blast making that movie. A lot of good old actors in that flick.

The bloopers on that were awesome, especially the Sammy Davis, Jr. and Dean Martin ones.

"Those bleeds?"

I saw Matt Dillon in black and white

there ain't no color in memories.

He rode his brother's Harley across the TV

while I was laughing at Dom DeLuise.

Now I'm cycling all my video tapes, I'm crying and I'm joking.

I've gotta stop drinking, I've gotta stop thinking,

I've gotta stop smoking.

"If your going to be a bear, be a grizzly bear" one of my favorite movies to quote. Dom DeLuise was great in that movie

The whole emperor scene in History of the World just busts me up.  Best movie fart, ever.  EVER!  You can't watch that and say Dom Deluise is not funny.

Jackie Chan put bloopers at the end of his movie because of Cannonball Run. He thought they were a fun addition to the movie. Anyone else remember Jackie in Cannonball Run?

Not really, he's had some good moments, but there were a lot of bad ones too.

I thought Burt Reynolds was funny as hell when he he was picking on Dom in all those great old movies.

Of course, Burt would be labeled a bully with Dom the poor victim, and many would protest his movies if they were made today. But they both seemed like they got the joke, and had a great time filming those movies.

No,  and honestly I don't get much enjoyment out of most 70s comedy. All seems very low brow and slapstick heavy
