Expecting immigrants to abandon their culture is foolish. People cling to their culture with great tenacity.
That's why Leftist's hate it so much.

If you want immigrants to assimilate into your culture, you need to provide them with one that reflects theirs.
The idea that you can just throw a bunch of disparate people from all over the world together, and somehow it'll work, is silly.
Anyone who believes that simply doesn't understand what it was that made America unique.

That is where we are today.  Racial and other quotas are used by universities and professional schools for admissions and by corporations and governments for employment.  These policies are said to augment the laws against discrimination.  But ironically, they end up actively discriminating, typically against white males.
