Of course. Holster and weapon go into the night stand when I take them off. I'm no operator though. The gun I carry daily is the same one I reach for if I need it at night.

Yes, always. It's in my carry holster, on top of the night stand, with a short lanyard attached to the belt clip and the night stand.
Just as fast as it would be lying there, and I'm not going to have a ND trying to hit my snooze button at 0430. |

I used to. All of my loaded handguns were holstered.
These days any handgun out of the safe is loaded and I rarely keep them holstered. No kids and everyone who comes to my house knows guns are probably loaded. |

I have a low bed frame and mattress, my "nightstand" handgun is under my side of the bed on a book..no holster. No alarms or anything else under there, except for a Tac-14 w/ TL-R4.

I do. For those who think it slows them down, try timing yourself. If you're already having to reach a long distance or open a drawer I can almost guarantee a regular Kydex holster needing to be pulled off won't slow you down at all.

Yes, because it's a Glock, I'm a heavy sleeper and people roused out a deep sleep are prone to doing impulsive things. It's in a IT'S YOUR FUNERAL(tm) Serpa holster, so I have to concentrate hard enough to push one button to access.
Honestly though, five feet away in the closet is a purpose built HD 12 gauge. Short of the BG standing over the bed, that's where I'm going anyway. |
