I might be aging some of you but after buying my first CD player and my first CD it was quite incredible.
That CD was "Nothing like the sun" by Sting.  What a masterpiece. Still have it in my collection.

Not sure if it was my second or not but Robert Plant's "Now and Zen" was outstanding on CD.  The clarity of "Ship of Fools" is
burned into my brain.  We've come along way from vinyl.

That's a hard one. I remember a lot of my early CD's but I don't remember the first one I bought. Probably some 90's pop crap.

The Crow

For 8th grade graduation, my parents bought me an AIWA stereo for getting straight A's the whole year.  Played the CD on repeat more times than I can remember.

Ummm, the first CD I had (given to me) was the soundtrack to young guns... I think the first I actually bought was C&C Music Factory ??

I did have a source for unlimited movie soundtracks for quite a while.

I heard Purple on CD before it was released.  I was good friends with Dean Deleo.
Listened to it in his car in Del Mar California.

Nevermind, Nirvana.

And the most amazingly fast CD player(single disc) for a decade.  Instant tracking, just amazing.  No remote:(.  My brother gifted it to my parents a few years prior, when there were only a handful of CDs out for purchase. Took decades for CD players to be as responsive and quick.  Of course, no error correction, caching, jitter correction, programability, repeat, or any basic digital function.

But, put in a CD, shove the tray in(eject didn't trigger the drawer to close, yet) and hit play, less that .01 seconds until it was playing music.  Next track, instant.  Way faster than my records(vinyl for young people).

Dire Straits Brothers in Arms. Was the one to have to impress people with your CD player addition to the half dozen other components of your stereo system. Still got it, along with the stereo system minus the CD player.
