Apparently the WH, Republicans, and Dems are meeting today to discuss a deal for DACA to pass a spending bill and get the Wall built. Would granting legal status to 800k illegals be the downfall of Trump? Should republicans be dealing with Dems after voters handed Repubs all the power?

Yes, but wall first. It is probably the only way yo get the wall built
Imagine the left refuses to approve the wall. Trump can tweet that the left does not want DACA to stay in effect. the left would be standing in the spotlight with no where to go but to approve the wall. |
|
no daca,,yes build the wall. Blow right by the democrates and get it built. They will not be able to tear it down after it is up.
|
|
Build the wall first. Send the illegals back. Let them apply for legal immigration like millions before them. No tradeoffs. No shortcut deals.
|
|
Build the wall and DACA goes into effect when the last portion of the wall is built.

Wall.
Send them back, they don't have squatters rights. I don't give a rat's ass that many of them spent time growing up here. Many can't speak English, most don't want to assimilate, and very few are literate or literate in English. The argument that they're valedictorians and doctors/engineers/skilled artisans is laughable. If they actually had any of those skills in any numbers to matter - Mexico and other Hispanic countries would be asking to have them sent back to improve their mother countries. Their mother countries don't want them back - and there's no reason on earth why that means that WE are obligated to take them. And we're damned sure in no way obligated to enable them to bring in anyone/everyone they share a DNA string with to start siphoning welfare and SSI from Americans who paid into the system and into the wallets of incoming retirees and medical basket cases needing to deprive us of the benefits. You make sure American veterans are ALL given access to housing, medical care and able to earn the ability to feed themselves by their own labor, and cared for/about with the dignity they earned, and we can START to discuss letting some of the actually skilled DACA to apply. Until then, lets discuss what they owe us for the social benefits they absorbed from us under false pretenses by breaking our laws and lowering OUR standard of living. |

No
I never heard during the campaign that we had to grant amnesty to a few million people in order to build the wall |
|
|
Political realities being what they are, I'd accept DACA to get the wall. Contrary to what some here think, it cannot happen without some Dem support; they control just enough. If that's what it takes, so be it. I don't like it, but that is the way it is.

This is dangerous to be bargaining, because the wall takes time to build, but DACA is instantaneous. The Dems could say yes to the deal, get their DACA, and then drag their feet on the wall, accomplishing their true goal.
If he wants to get the wall built quickly, he should put sunsets on the DACA contingent on wall progress. IE: DACA goes away in 1 year unless fencing is installed over the full length, 3 years for 87% completed with more permanent wall etc. Also, he should be putting in the caveat that dreamers who are allowed to stay will not get citizenship, therefore no voting rights. The path to citizenship for dreamers would be to join the established legal immigration pool. |
|
Sure, with a few conditions;
- They can never collect public assistance - They can't have a criminal record or gang affiliations - They must be fluent in English - No chain migration, bringing in more family members, or allowing the rest of their families to stay - Their legal permanent residence status can never be turned into citizenship - They don't get their legal permanent resident status until construction of the wall is complete, until then they are fair game for arrest & deportation |

Reagan agreed to amnesty for a few thousand farm workers. That metastasized into hundreds of thousands who claimed they worked on a farm. It's going on even today, or at least very recently. We just can't say no to anyone, once we say yes to one. |

DACA only implemented after the wall is completed,
and increasingly strict standards beginning immediately....... Make it less painful for the dems to give in than to fight. |

They came here illegally, they are criminals, send them back.
If they must stay they should have no citizen rights, no voting, no bringing family members into our great nation, no welfare of any kind, nothing. Just work & pay taxes. Most will self deport under those terms. |
|
1. Build the wall and secure the border.
2. End chain migration. 3. End the immigration lottery. 4. Consider DACA if strict limits are put in place. 10 year Visa program and if you violate any conditions you have to leave. I'm thinking the same requirements on form 4473, domestic abuse, felony, dishonorable discharge, etc... you have to go home. Parents that brought the kids in move to the end of the line. The family must also demonstrate that it is not dependent on the state, no welfare, no free college. |
|
If there is a deal, and I don't believe there should be, but if there is, it should include some provisions to end DACA if the left engages in any fuckery to sabotage the wall. It should also include provisions that limit who would be allowed to stay - i.e. no clean criminal history (other than the obvious illegal status), no family criminal history, decent school/work history, and the ability to speak functional English. Basically, there has to be indication that they will be a functioning member of society and not grow up to be a gang member or FSA.
But I'd rather he just said "we president now" and tell them to piss off. |

1. Wall/border security first, no compromise.
2. National Voter ID. No compromise. 3. End birthright citizenship. If your parents are not citizens when you are born here, neither are you. 4. Current DACA allowed to stay as permanent residents. No new applications after a certain date. 5. "Sanctuary" Cities are illegal and be fined at extremely punitive rates. Democrats would never go for 2 & 3, as that would mean they lose their vote slaves. Properly spun, we can expose that they don't care about DACA "kids", they care about their votes. |
|
|
Limited DACA deal for the wall. The actual “dreamers” can stay, but they must go through the nationalization process within a limited timeframe. Families of “dreamer” must return to their own country and apply for legal status.... and build the big wall.
|
|
If I owned the world they would all be gone. I'd declare martial law in sanctuary states and cities and have the army and marines round up the foreign invaders. I'd give them 48 s to self deport or turn themselves in.
When captured they would be placed in work camps to build the wall for as long as it took, then deported. I don't own the world so do DACA but only AFTER the wall is built and Chain and the lottery migration is ended. |
|
Wall with a slide to send them fuckers back, may as well make it fun...

PDJT knows if we don't deport most illegals and their ability to make instant citizens we are done as a nation
Whatever he has to to do up front to accomplish this end result so be it. The dreamers only make up 2-3 % of the total illegals in the U.S. |

I'd support it if I actually thought the wall would be effective. I'd much rather see the focus on eliminating the incentives for illegal immigration.

What would the point of building the wall be if you let a million illegals stay?

NO
Sending those illegals back is an entirely separate issue from building a wall. In fact, they're going to warp the voting dynamics of our country if they're allowed to remain and become "legitimized". Send the them hell back; each and every damned one of them. |
