To me, bronies are no different than Trekkies or Star Wars devotees or people that love comic books. Those people all have action figures, and play dress up, write fanfic, and yes, even make pr0n about it. For the vast majority, it's purely entertainment, but you get the occasional one that takes it to extremes (i.e. pony pr0n). MLP isn't my thing, but neither are comic books.

I think a lot of people get hung up on the fact that it's a cartoon originally intended for little girls, but there were plenty of adults obsessed with Pokemon and Sailor Moon too. I just don't get why the extreme disgust is directed at bronies specifically, when pretty much every geek subculture has a few of "those" members, and the rest are just people enjoying what they like.

What if I told you that these weirdos jerked it to the ponies?

A very select few, sure. Same thing with any fandom. You have your average, run of the mill fans (the vast majority), and you have the ones that get really into it, and then you have the ones that take it over the line into an obsession. You, and most of the other judgmental people here take the latter and project it onto the entire fanbase. You also assume that this is new and unprecedented, but it isn't. It's just the most recent iteration.

Sailor Moon

Pokemon fans

Mortal Kombat

Dragonball Z

When people start dressing like cartoon characters,  the line has been crossed, no matter what line it is.

Up to that point,  you may be forgiven for your participation in a fan base,  but once you put on the costume,

you are officially and formally in the permanent loser category.

The only exception to that rule is if someone is paying you well to put on the costume.  Then it's just business.

Your average Joe sixpack who thinks pony people are faggots, are NOT INFRINGING ON YOUR RIGHTS AT ALL. I can demonstrate logically, why a normal man such as myself, feels absolute revulsion with pony people:

1. The victim complex

2. Most of them are virgin white guys

[snipped]

The list could go on, but you get the point. I don't care one way or the other if you watch the show.

Fight Club is not that good of a movie.  It is entertaining, but it is also a pseudo-intellectual rant against Capitalism that blames "the big corporations".

I watched a few episodes because my 3 year old daughter wanted to watch it.  I thought it was a little "old" for her, so she doesn't watch it anymore.

After seeing the fascination on ARFCOM, she will, most likely, never watch it.

I'm glad to know the grown men that out themselves and let everyone know they watch it.  In most situations, they would not be allowed around my children or in my house.  I find it creepy, especially after the accidental screenshot post by a member here showing them with shemale porn open on another tab.  Too much wierdness for me. It wreaks of psychological issues...

I don't think anyone can deny that people who considers themselves "bronies" have serious developmental issues. Learning social norms is part of your development as a child/adolescent. Now, some people I'm sure watch MLP to be "ironic" or to protest against "the establishment." These people would fall under the category of omega males. They lack the confidence to participate in what society tells them is normal, so they buck the trend and tend to be very flamboyant about it. They are essentially hiding behind the persona of being a bronie, and anyone who doesn't like it "just doesn't get it."

Either way, something is wrong.

Well, I actually have specific knowledge of child development, as that was my major in college. Development is but one small facet of the myriad of things that had to go wrong for a grown man to literally lose his mind over MLP shows.

Your opinion that I am talking out of my ass is just as valid as my opinion that you bronies are outcasts and omega male sociopaths in some instances.

You qualified your own statement that time.  "in some instances". I actually agree with that qualified statement.
SOME bronies are indeed extremely "omega" and are generally some very fucked up units indeed.

However there are certainly those who are considerably

more "normal" and highly functional with good employable skillsets and good socialization skills as well.

Sweet. Of course I recognize it as the original comic. Did you see the TMNT movie they made around 2006 or so? It had the rebooted "modern" turtles meet their 80s counterparts who came from another dimension. They ended up on in the prime dimension, which was black and white and drawn like the old comics. They even had Leonardo doing narration (Dude, who are you talking to?)

Here is a clip. The whole thing is on youtube.

So anyone interested in something outside of stereotypical "gender norms" has developmental issues?

Does this woman?

What about this woman?

And her?

What about her?

They are all interested in things typically classified as "male" occupations or interests. Does that mean they have issues? Or lack confidence to participate in what society tells them is normal? Or maybe it's just that they like what they like, and don't give a shit what people think they "should" be interested in.

They even had Leonardo doing narration (Dude, who are you talking to?)

Here is a clip. The whole thing is on youtube.

Dude, how have I not seen that?

OMG.

At least I caught the call back to TMNT #1 in the new Nick CG series opening.

Who gets to define whats "normal"? In the UK they show tits on prime time, here its verboten, Whos right? Not that long ago if a man wanted to be a nurse he was ridiculed for doing "girls" work and a lot of people would have refused to let woman Dr. treat them, are modern male nurses and female Dr's to be made fun of as not normal? At one time the mentally ill were sent to asylums and treated horribly because they were not normal. What about when it was "normal" to own black people like farm equipment? Whats normal for you (religion) is abnormal and strange to me. So again I ask, who gets to decide what is normal, you, me, society, and who gets to decide which society is "right" ours, the Germans, the French, The Aborigines?

Um... no they dont.

Some of the shows on some of the channels have cussing and nudity later at night. Past 9pm, I think? Misfits on Hulu is an example.

Fair enough, I saw the sitcom and based on their non prude attitude toward nudity I made a bad call.

What if I told you that these weirdos jerked it to the ponies?

Yes. Notice how it's only white women doing that stupid shit. For some reason, white women are uncomfortable in femininity. The most revolting pictures you listed are probably the football chick, and the wannabe grease-monkey. All those pictures do is scream "I NEED ATTENTION, LOOK AT ME, I'M DOING MAN STUFF!"

I don't have a problem with the hunting photo, but the rest of them are cringe-worthy.

There was a time not that long ago when people were ashamed of their perversions. Now they are proud of their fetishes and weirdness.

What was once good is now evil and what was once evil is now proclaimed as good.

They are all interested in things typically classified as "male" occupations or interests. Does that mean they have issues? Or lack confidence to participate in what society tells them is normal? Or maybe it's just that they like what they like, and don't give a shit what people think they "should" be interested in.

None of those activities were created solely for children. Nice try though.
