children skiiers or snowboarders are dangerous assholes.

the dickhead kid probably rammed into the doctors child and the gloves came off.

I'm torn on this because the doctor seems like he s guilty but the little shit probably deserved it and perhaps worse.

Assuming we're talking about a typical 12 year old and not some freakish man child, if some adult lays into someone else's kid without some indication of malice on the kid's part and the kid's parent shot them in the face, then the parent would walk if I were on the jury.

Especially if we're talking about bringing a ski pole into it.   Rich entitled fucks need learn to to act like adults.

The "ski" area is 47 miles from the NYC metro area and offers a mind-boggling 167 acres of skiing. http://www.mountaincreek.com/mountain/mountain-statistics/

What could go wrong?

I'd have a bad attitude too if I had to ski in New Jersey.

Pittsburgh's close proximity douchebag hill is Seven Springs. Someone was killed there last week.

There is a smaller hill next to it that I frequent with my children for the quick one day outings. The hot shot dick heads tend to stay away from
it due to the shorter runs and lack of accommodations.

167 acres across 4 peaks?

Is that even possible?

Life-long skier here... Seen it many times.

Some kid skies like his parka is on fire?  And he takes out your kid?  I can see some words being exchanged.

I've had some little freaks hit me hard enough cutting across a run to make me worry about my ribs being broken. My kids are in lessons, and hill etiquette is not negotiable.  I learned to ski at an icy little hill in Idaho, where you stood a good chance at an attitude adjustment in a grocery store parking lot. It was a small pond where everyone knew each other, or could phone up a friend who knew a friend who went to another school and had a grudge.

Last year, I took up riding after realizing 10 years ago that my knees don't handle skiing as well.
Observations:
1- Skiers and riders are both self-absorbed jerks.
2- The snow is much harder on impact than it was 20 years ago.
3- Middle aged novice snowboarders shouldn't think their ability to bomb black diamonds 20 years ago is applicable.

Depending on what the level was there are different rules for conduct.

Many double diamonds connect to the bunny slopes at the very end of the run. This puts the experienced guys on the same giant flat hill with the folks who are just learning.

There are a lot of kids who are 12, 13, 14 years old who have been skiing/snowboarding since they were 5. They frequently use these areas to show off and do stupid shit.

I'm fine with it, I accept it, but the premise that the kid deserved it is 50/50 as far as I'm concerned. You spend times on the slopes and you see this shit.

It's a ski area. Did you expect the kid to ski up the hill?

It's a ski slope. People ski down it. It's not fast walking at the mall.

I used to live about three miles from Mountain Creek and I had season passes. If you didn't know it was crowded when you bought a lift ticket, you knew it by the time you got through the line for the chair. This is not to excuse the kid, but people used to stop on the low side if a hump so they could be invisible. Collisions were common. You had to watch it there in the 1990s and I can't imagine it got less crowded.

I agree on the 12-20 year olds being dicks.  Some of them just act like complete dicks.

I was skiing today with my nine year old.

There were two snowboarder guys with German WW2 winter looking coats.  The trench coat looking things.  We made a joke and that was that.

We saw them an hour later getting onto the lift.  They had gas masks on.

They were looking at me and and I said "What's with the gas masks?".  They mumbled some shit about staying warm.

On the lift up they kept blurting out shit in that growl death metal shit every once in a while.  We were a chair behind them.

We later saw them ordering drinks so these dicks were older than the regular douche age.

Defense attorney Robert Dunn says it's an unfortunate incident that his client is very sorry about. This is called "a clue"

or perhaps the realization that certain arguments won't play well in court.   I'm sure you ve always made arguments based on facts(which are still unknown in this case) rather than what was strategically in the best interest of your client

Well even if the kid was being a little shit, you're not going to get very far trying to justify why you punched a child.

Its all about plausible deniability.

What he should have done was just bumped him into some powder and kept on trucking.

I started skiing when I was 9.

Slowly snowplowing my way down the hill (no mountains in Northern Illinois) I wound up not-snowplowing and found myself barreling down the slope totally out of control.

Trying to figure out how to slow down was quickly replaced with trying to figure out how to stop.  I wound up stopping by hitting the line of people at the bottom waiting for the lift.  Probably took out  a half dozen of 'em.

No one beat me or yelled at me. They knew I was just a kid learning how to ski and that shit happens.

What is the FT/LBS of a 9 year old at 200 FPS... better or worse than a .45 for "Knock down power"?
