I've had one for years, great wallet. But damn bro, you're rough on wallets!

Correct, which is why I'm trying to get away from carrying a wallet at all.
The only thing I really *need* to carry is my DL. My phone can do everything else from act as my AAA card
to pay for groceries.

Something similar, FURID, from Amazon.  It has the Airtag holder built into it.

I have to re-tighten the screws like once a year but it's held up.

How does the actual ridge wallet differ from the $2-$5 copies on aliexpress/wish?

I picked up a half dozen of and aluminum styles of them maybe 5 years ago for the kids and those have been holding up just fine.

I didn't think they were even really worth what I paid for them.  I can't imagine paying more for them.

I've had my ridge for 8 or more years and it still looks brand new.

I bought a Temu El-Cheap-O knock off for $5, a year ago. No problems.

For the cost of one Ridge, I can replace my Chyna Ridge twenty times.

No begrudging anybody who's wealthy enough for the real McCoy.

I need a new wallet pretty badly, but I’m broke. I’ve been thinking about the magpul Daka since it’s so slim but I’d love a ridge wallet if I could afford it.

I really hate the elastic retention.

Wearing leather forever, and just too bulky

I looked at 2 other types
Scudo-USA
Groove Life

The Scudo is my favorite. It holds 8 cards, folded cash, has a spot if I want to have my CCW or ID visible or not.

Groove Life is fidget like. Cards pop up and ready to grab and put back in.

Love my Magpul. I'm not certain what the desire for a non-flexible wallet would be. Doesn't sound comfortable to me, but I'm an admitted Princess and the Pea.

I’m still using a twenty-two year old $40 leather wallet from FM. Looks like new, except that it molded to my cards and ass.

I stopped carrying it there though. Jacket pocket is much better, or front pocket if no jacket.

I bought a knock off version from amazon.. Ive had it for over 2 years.. No issues.. except the paint wearing off... GF bought me 3 more, all with different designs on them.. Theoretically, I will never need another wallet again in my lifetime... all for less that 60 bucks

The tension of the elastic holding the aluminum sides together + the friction of the aluminum on the plastic cards.

Love my Ridge.  I did lose a screw at some point, but I can't imagine how one could get stripped out unless you used a screwdriver on it improperly.  Are you saying they were stripped when it was new?

I emailed them about the missing screw, and they sent me a pack of screws for free.  I used blue Locktite on the replacement and on them all when I replaced the elastic band.

Elastic straps on three sides.  On the fourth side, clamping of the elastic and friction.  Nothing's coming out unless you want it to.

A rigid, aluminum wallet that sheds hardware? Seriously?

I carry a 14 year old Bosca...Cognac Executive ID, which holds the minimum necessary without bulging. I have one of their portfolios, too, that regrettably sits on a closet shelf now that I've retired. All their stuff is really nice.

They also make weekend and front pocket wallets.

Had my Ridge for about a year now. Removed the screws once to replace the covers with some G10 plates in a flurry of "G10 ALL THE THINGS!!11" and Loc-Tited them down. Haven't messed with them since and the still look fine.

Happy with it, good wallet, does what a wallet needs to do and doesn't ruin my back sitting on it like my old leather one.

I wasn't really planning on replacing the old one. Until I lost it.

Why did I lose it? Because I sat down somewhere, and felt that lump of leather and useless cards like a rock under my ass. So I took it out of my pocket and set it down next to me. When it was time to go, I forgot all about it and just got up and walked away. That was a fun day cancelling and replacing all those cards that had no reason to be in my wallet in the first place.

And that was my clue that I needed to rethink my whole wallet situation. Namely, keep the new one small so I'm not tempted to take it out every time I want to sit down somewhere.

I don't know how ya'll are stripping out the screws. You're not really supposed to be messing with them on a regular basis.

Math on the dates sounds suspect.

I’ll stick with my saddleback leather wallet that I’ve had for about 10 years that has many more to go.

Front pocket carry for a wallet is the only way for me.

When I looked into them since I needed an RFID blocking wallet, they appeared to all be made in China. The price is way too high for Chinese crap. I bought a Dango wallet made in the US and it's a fine wallet, and cost less than the Ridge.

I’ve had a then $15 amazon knock off since 2018, because I wanted to see if I’d like it before springing for a Ridge.

I never expected it to last this long, but other than surface wear it still functions the same as day 1.

I got one of these before a trip. For months I thought I had a bad credit card. I kept getting chip errors but the strip worked to swipe. Unfortunately, a lot of the terminals would only let you chip if your card had one. I didn't want to go through the hassle of changing my cc info everywhere to get a new card. Not sure why, but I swapped wallets for some reason. Card started working again. Never had a problem since. No idea what it was about that wallet but I haven't been brave enough to try it again.
