You want to see magic?  

I present to you my opposable thumbs.

With my thumbs, I can
- open doors
- open the dog treat jar
- drop the tailgate of the pickup truck
- drive the pickup truck
(and I'm sure I've left out some things)

Having thumbs is pure sorcery from the perspective of my dogs, and they love me for it.
