Yep... Just like the time he banned bumpstocks and made everyone felons View Quote Last I heard, the comment period only ended a few weeks ago. IIRC, it took almost a year after the comment period before 41(P) took effect. But it did take effect. Does anyone really think the bumpstock ban isn't happening? Trump pretty much said "I can ban those by executive order" and then publicly told the Department of Justice to do exactly that. Call me cynical, but I have a hard time believing that the bumpstock ban isn't happening. |

He has won in literally every other way possible but when it comes to guns hes the biggest fucking loser there is. 1. Cancel Obama executive actions on immigration and guns.
Presidents are free to revoke or modify their own orders or those issued by a predecessor. Trump could revoke President Barack Obama’s executive actions as soon as he takes office. Trump has promised to rescind Obama’s immigration and gun executive orders, terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (or DACA) "immediately." Undoing DACA, which deferred deportation and allowed immigrants to apply for work permission, would make undocumented people who arrived in the United States as children subject to deportation. (He’s said that the "terrific" ones would have an opportunity to return legally.) Some 740,000 people have been approved for DACA, and research suggests up to 1.7 million people are potentially eligible. Trump also promised to eliminate Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents or DAPA, an expanded version of DACA proposed by Obama in 2014. That program, which applies to some 5 million people, is on hold due to a Supreme Court deadlock. Trump called Obama’s executive order to require background checks on firearms sold at gun shows an assault on the Second Amendment, and vowed he would "unsign that so fast." He’s also promised to ban gun-free zones in schools and on military bases on day one. And now? He's parroting Feinstein and Cuomo. |

I know he has more than just gun rights to worry about, but I would prefer him not saying anything about guns. I grew up at 12958 Chapel in Detroit (look it up). When I was between the ages of 7-8 there was a guy in a ski mask who would try to break into our house every night on and off and me and my mom would call the cops and watch him. She had nails in all of the windows to keep them from opening from the outside and he thankfully never got in. This went on for a long time with us watching him and hoping he didn't get in until the cops showed up around 4 -5 hours later from our little mini-precint that was never open. The cops would finally swing by after daybreak and take a report and say they couldn't do shit. My uncle Bob, who we hadn't seen in a while contacted my mom out of the blue one day and she told him what was happening and he loaned her a .22 ruger rifle. A few nights later the guy came back and she knocked on the window and pointed it at him and he ran like hell and never came back. That uncle(my dad's brother) taught me to shoot, hunt, and taught me conservative values. That ruger was the first rifle I ever shot and I've been a hell of a shot since. Since then I am unswerving in my beliefs no matter what or who is in office. |

As a guy with three 3D printers (two are running behind me as I type this), a desktop CNC machine and a small lathe, banning information is pointless, it's already out there and it's widespread. I've got all those designs and more. I could turn them out in plastic or aluminum at the drop of a hat. Chinese printers have flooded the market as well, you can buy one that will print one of the plastic guns or a plastic AR receiver for $200. Might as well ban cheap Chinese milling machines and hunks of steel and aluminum too. IMO this is just a way for Trump to quiet the Left down and keep this from being a major talking point in the mid terms. I could be wrong and often am, but that's what it appears like to me. Leftist state governments will ban them no matter what and Republicans just want their own talking points as they come up for re-election. "The president is looking into it" is their talking point. And no, Trump is not pro 2A the same way we are, he never has been, isn't now and never will be. Anyone who thinks any of the other candidates would have been any better are fooling themselves. We've seen Rand Paul and Ted Cruz cave on numerous items when the heat got too much for them, there's no real reason to believe they wouldn't have caved on bump stocks or 3d printable guns as well. And I guess we know where Hillary would have stood on the issue. View Quote |
