Not an EVboi, but if I were to go to the dark side, this will be it. Proto was tight - I'm itching to see what production can do. Sendit.

My first WAG is might be a math joke.  To do it, you would need to accelerate at about 3g.  Interesting, average acceleration I saw on at least one web page on the Falcon 9 Heavy was about 3g.  So just put the roadster in front of a Falcon 9 heavy, and Bob's your uncle.  He did not say where it would do 0-60...

Of course he already launched 1 Roadster and honestly, I could not find a web page that actually listed it's vertical 0-60...

So I looked it up. An aircraft carrier catapult shot off the deck is 4gs. Musk needs to do better.

There is already an EV than can do <1" 0-60...
New World Record – from 0 to 100 km/h in 0.956 seconds

All it took was a tiny go kart, vacuum system for traction and a 90lb driver

My AMG does 0-60 I'm about 3.5 seconds, and that's a handful.  It moves around a lot under that acceleration.

It's hard to imagine what less than a second would feel like. I can picture a lot of crashes, especially with low experience drivers

Having driven the Plaid around a bit, it's rather remarkable how well the speed scales. At low speeds the acceleration is entirely controllable unless you're a moron. If you just fucking floor it, the result is legitimately terrifying the first few times you feel it.

I talked to friend that has a Tesla just yesterday.

Two years ago, he was gung-fucking-ho about it. When I saw him yesterday (first time in a few months), first thing he said was asking me if I wanted to buy it.

Can't go to the dealer without spending a thousand bucks.

Door handles. He's replaced a half dozen.
Other people touch the door handles and break them.
The adhesive in the touch screen melted on a hot day.
Tires are $500 each.
Bought the wrong tires, and they lasted 300 miles.
The motor-drive coupler broke. Two hours to replace, part was $7k.
He's dreading replacing the battery. He doesn't make that kind of money.

He's done with it, and nobody wants to buy it from him. He was so blood-thirsty about getting it, it was stunning.

ETA, I used to work on sportbikes. Most people can't comprehend that kind of acceleration, and they damn sure can't comprehend it when it's actively occurring.
You want Uncle Joe passing legislation to keep you from speeding? This is how you get Uncle Joe to pass legislation to keep you from speeding.

The ONLY part of your post that might be true is that you have a friend with a Tesla.  And maybe the sport bike part.   The rest of it is GD fantasy.

If you’ve actually owned a Tesla, you know their warranty is solid.  Parts used to hard to get, but now they are more reasonable.  If it’s under warranty, it’s completely covered.  I am not believing that your friend had to pay out of pocket for anything you mentioned on a 2 year old car.

Yes, if he bought the wrong tires, sure.  The door handles? Nah.  The coupler?  Nah.  He still has 8 years of warranty left on the battery and he is already worried about a non event?

The adhesive melting on a hot day?  Alright that was an issue prior to 2017.

Did your friend buy a salvage titled 2017 Tesla two years ago (2022)?  Is that what you are trying to tell us?

Let's calculate the acceleration for a 0 to 60 mph in 1.1 seconds:

Acceleration in m/s
=
60
?
mph
×
0.44704
?
m/s
1.1
?
s
Acceleration in m/s=
1.1s
60mph×0.44704m/s
?

Acceleration in m/s
˜
24.349
?
m/s
2
Acceleration in m/s˜24.349m/s
2

Now, we can calculate the acceleration in G-forces:

Acceleration in Gs
=
24.34
9
2
9.8
˜
60.35
?
Gs
Acceleration in Gs=
9.8
24.349
2

?
˜60.35Gs

This is extremely high level of acceleration and well beyond what the human body can endure without significant risk of injury or fatality.

Not a fan of EV but that's cool.

If they get their cars to average 500 miles on a single charge, all weather and can recharge to at least 90% in 15 minutes at get 150,000 miles on the battery pack I'd consider one.

The only thing in your post that was correct is that 60Gs is unhealthy.
Top fuel drivers hit 0-60 in less than .5 sec without dying and it's because even with that time, they are no where near 60Gs of acceleration.
Math like that leads me to believe that you probably think 50% feedback is a good thing.
