Edge of tomorrow (2014) - Beach battle - Only Action [1080p] Emily Blunt is “so ready” for an ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ sequel. The 40-year-old actress admitted she would “love” to make a follow-up to the 2014 film – in which Tom Cruise played a PR executive who keeps reliving the same day over and over again as he battles against aliens – and has even had a script from director Doug Liman. Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, Emily Blunt told host Josh Horowitz: “There was one that Doug [Liman] kind of slithered over to me. I mean, I would love to make it a reality but I just don’t know when or how.” The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star insisted she is “so ready” for the sequel and clarified she is “not the impediment” to making the project happen. Emily Blunt joked Tom needs to step away from the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise – of which the seventh installment, ‘Dead Reckoning Part 1’ has just been released – to work on something different. Emily Blunt quipped: “And how many ‘Mission Impossibles’ does he need? Come back to the side where… wasn’t he brilliant as a cowardly hero? Incredible.” Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘Oppenheimer‘ actress insisted she doesn’t think of herself as a movie star. Asked about the difference between being called an actor or a movie star, she said: “I think most people would want to consider themselves an actor [first].” But asked if she could be both, Emily Blunt replied: “No, gross. I don’t. I just think, to me, a movie star sounds sort of too separate of what we kind of started out doing and why we love it and why I love it.” But Emily admitted the two concepts can sometimes blend together. She said in the interview, which was conducted before the current actors strike,: “Julia Roberts, who is, you know, was defined as a movie star. But you can’t forget her incalculable abilities as an actor and how incredible she was in ‘Pretty Woman‘, that the reason she’s a movie star is because she kidnaps you and pulls you in to this movie because of her phenomenal talents and her charm and her charisma. “When someone’s got that wattage to them, it’s like you can’t rip your eyes off them. Maybe that’s what the movie star thing is but I see it often as like a blend.” https://www.koimoi.com/hollywood-news/emily-blunt-urges-tom-cruise-to-make-edge-of-tomorrow-sequel-asks-how-many-mission-impossibles-does-he-need/ |

Edge of Tomorrower?
No thanks. ETA - Leave good films alone - don't ruin them with unnecessary sequels. |

The original book is really good. Maybe 40 or 50 pages only if I remember right.
I’d like to see a sequel. |

It was groundhog day, with aliens!
They defeated them, so who's attacking this time? I liked the movie, just let it go, some movies don't need a sequel. Unless EB is going to be nekked, then I'm all in!!! |

Future In a December 2015 interview with Collider, McQuarrie said that Cruise had an idea for a sequel, and that the concept is "locked and loaded."[132] In April 2016, Doug Liman had signed on to direct the sequel, while Race screenwriters Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse will write the script for the film.[133] In October 2016, Liman stated that the film would "revolutionize how people make sequels", and went on to say that the story is "much better than the original film" and that it's "a sequel that's a prequel."[134][135] In May 2017, Liman revealed that the title will be Live Die Repeat and Repeat and that both Cruise and Emily Blunt will reprise their roles from the first film.[136] In January 2018, Liman said that Live Die Repeat and Repeat could be his next film and that scheduling issues have been worked out and the film is moving steadily toward a window in which to start production.[137] In March 2018, Liman said that he was now working with Jez Butterworth on a script rewrite for the film.[138] Later that month, Blunt stated that she, Cruise and Liman were all enthusiastic about the project, but also noted that "It's a lot for all the stars to align for everyone to be free at the same time and available to do it at the same time."[139] In March 2019, it was reported that Matthew Robinson would rewrite the screenplay,[140] and in October, Liman confirmed that the script was finished.[141] After numerous delays, Liman said on Instagram that the project was still in "planning stages" as of January 2020.[142] In January 2021, Liman continued to suggest a sequel will eventually happen and merely needs the two stars to pull the trigger.[143] Emily Blunt has since stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the budget for another film would be "too expensive", casting further doubt on a possible sequel.[144] In June 2023, Blunt reiterated her interest in a returning for a sequel, but said she doesn't know when it would happen.[145] That month, McQuarrie said that getting the sequel produced had been a complicated situation thus far.[146] In August 2023, Blunt stated that Cruise's busy schedule was preventing production from moving forward.[147] In February 2022, it was revealed by Village Roadshow Pictures that Warner Bros. Pictures had been developing a television series spin-off of the film with intentions to release the show exclusively on HBO Max.[148] View Quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_of_Tomorrow |

I really enjoyed that movie and watch it when it comes on the tube.

She should just do the prequel. The bitch of Verdun.
Or, just leave well enough alone. |

It's a fantastic movie, and with good writers and a good script, a sequel COULD be good.
Aliens is a completely different kind of movie from Alien, but is still an amazing sequel. So I am sure a good sequel is possible. |

They should do a multi -franchise crossover. Little Edge of Tomorrow, mixed in with Men in Black, some Terminator stuff , little Oblivion action, maybe an Alien or two in the mix. It'd be like the Expendables version of sci Fi franchises

More recently, Marvel was knocking them out of the park with Thor: Ragnarock and Winter Soldier. OK, maybe it's doable. But, as you suggested, they need to switch up the tone and maybe even genre. Explore the world a bit more. For that reason, I'd be against a prequel that just shows another time loop story. |

it would have been a perfect movie if he would have called her by "Rose" at the last scene, her secret middle name that she revealed to him on a mission.

Quoted: 2 Edge 2 Tomorrow Make it happen, Tom. And RIP Bill Paxton. View Quote I like that. Bring on a dozen sequels that rival anything that VinDipshit can muster. I live my life one repetitive day at a time. /edit And a prequel is the only thing that makes sense. Make it darker to explain why she is the way she is, the loss has to have weight. Let people come out of the moving feeling like shit and wondering why they even watched it and what was the point. Well fucksticks, because it makes sense if it is to be the lead up to the first movie. But nobody in hollywood wants to take risks and I doubt dipshit Blunt would have the chops to want to be part of something that tool that big of a risk. |

Master Sergeant Farell : I see everyone is having a productive morning. You know it gives me a swell of pride knowing soldiers of your... caliber will be leading the charge tomorrow. Tip of the spear. Edge of the knife.
