It's all good camouflage if your in the right surroundings.
You can be perfectly hidden but take two steps and stand out like a sore thumb. |

This, or German Flecktarn. ETA: German BDUs are actually quite comfortable and well made. During the early days of CTD you could get full sets for $2. It's still out there but not as cheap: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/productlist?k=german+military+surplus+flecktarn |

What are some of the better Euro camo patterns? If you were forced to wear one instead of US, what would you wear? Brit? Danish? Swede? I know nothing but stumbled on this Finnish M05, L6 and L7 stuff. For all I know it sucks. https://www.varusteleka.com/en/category/finnish-m05-camo/1839 View Quote |

When I was in Italy last year the soldiers looked pretty sharp in their woodland digital.

M90 works best around here. The Finns and Norwegians also have great camo.
It's always easy to spot the Yanks when they come here, they stand out like a sore thumb in the woods. Attached File |

as an example of what i mean, here is Latvia's new 'multi-terrain' pattern. https://s14-eu5.startpage.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=http:%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2F6%2F66%2FA_Soldier_from_the_10th_Combat_Aviation_Brigade%252C_talks_with_Soldiers_from_the_Latvian_National_Guard.jpg&sp=517d7d5f6f739be34d5e17d4d8637bb9 I get what they're doing with the larger squares to keep the pattern effective to longer distances, but the colors will never work in a European environment View Quote That said, if anyone knows where I can get some, IM me. |

The move that European countries are making to multicam type patterns is silly and short-sighted. I get that they're trying to copy what the US does, but these new designs aren't going to work anywhere near as well what they are replacing. These multi-terrain patterns are perfect for places like Afghanistan but are going to suck when they get back home to European forests. Finland though does it absolutely right by having separate Summer, Winter and snow patterns https://s15-us2.startpage.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=https:%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F8NDpg7V.jpg&sp=aa9c63840a2646853f89b6fe7613c6dc View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: The US is entirely to thank for that. A number of European countries had NEVER had a desert variant of their uniform (since their focus was on defense, not foreign adventures) and so when countries volunteered to help in Afghanistan and/or Iraq they literally had to develop desert versions of their existing uniforms. The early Danish ones were pretty rushed, but ended up looking pretty good. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/1715/746.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/1715/40951.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/1715/15985.JPG View Quote |
