Quoted: I've been to many film locations of Dazed and Confused since it was filmed in Austin. - The HS in the movie was the junior HS that I went to. I took Industrial Arts (aka shop class) in the same shop class in the movie. - The football field where they are goofing off on was filmed at Burger Center. I've been on that field many times in HS. - I've eaten many times at Top Notch which is still open. - The scene where the HS senior girls are hazing the freshman girls was filed at the old Americana theater, now a public library. It's the theater where I saw Top Gun back in the day. I've been to the VLA in NM from the movie Contact. View Quote I do Top Notch ever so often for the 1st Saturday classic car meet. Always a great evening. |

Remember the movie C.H.U.D.? I've been in the tunnels where they filmed it. For example there's a scene where they're using flame throwers. That was filmed in part of an old wine cellar underground at the Manhattan approach to the Brooklyn bridge. It was partially taken over to build the Chambers at J line subway station. The public doesn't have access. Lots of interesting underground abandoned structures in the area.

I was in college at Pitt when they filmed Dark Knight Rises.
Was driving down the street and saw them filming the scene where Bane is on the steps of City Hall. That was pretty cool. |

Did a quick tour of Preston Idaho (Napoleon Dynamite)
Have watched many other movies being filmed The Rock Smurfs George Of The Jungle Was at the premier of "The Pacific" but had no idea who anyone was. Coincidentally bought "Of The Old Breed" on way home. After reading it, and seeing the commercials for The Pacific, put two and two together. Through happenstance have been in/around shooting locations, unknown to me at the time. You have any idea how many movies/Car commercials have been filmed at Point Mugu? Lol |

Forgot about this one. The Walk in the Woods with Robert Redford and Jack Nicholson. They showed McAfees Knob, which IMO is the best view anywhere in VA. I've been about a dozen times and on my last trip in November I spread my dog's ashes there since she had made the hike with me 3x.
Attached File This is my male dog and I on that last trip. Attached File |

Office Space
The Initech building was over by my work at the time. Drove by it every day when we were at that location. Chotchky's was the old Aligator Grill on S. Lamar. I've eaten there for lunch several times. It's now a Baker St. Pub. |

Downtown Cleveland where they filmed some capatain america scenes.
The Christmas Story house. And another place west of Cleveland where they filmed a Halloween type movie with some wildy popular (at the time) teenage actress whose name escapes me. I wonder how many I have been to and didnt realize a movie was filmed there? |
|
Quoted: Fort Knox, KY where they filmed part of Stripes, Devil's Tower, WY from Close Encounters and there are some parts of Savannah, GA in Forrest Gump. View Quote I'd forgotten about Devil's Tower and Close Encounters being filmed there. That is one trippy place. Standing at the bottom of that thing and looking up is truly a humbling experience. |

Quoted: Quoted: Used to work across the street from the location of the Innetech office from “Office Space”. You mean what was left of it? They didn't really burn it down. I drove by there on Friday. The house in Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, they really did burn that mother fucker down. Prior to the movie it was an abandoned farm house. We used to go hang out there and drink beer in high school. The bbq joint in Second Hand Lions and Texas Chainsaw isn't to far away, eaten there many times. |

Obscure movie no one will remember, so not a famous scene, but O.C. and Stiggs was filmed pretty
much everywhere I grew up in Phoenix and some friends were extras in it. It is a really bad movie due to incomprehensible editing among other things. Since this is a gun forum, trivia item: a full auto M-16 was lost in a local golf course's pond during filming and was never recovered in spite of days spent searching the bottom. |
|
Yeap, where they filmed 3 Days of the Condor. That's me on the right incase anyone was wondering

Living in LA for as long as I did, too many to count. I had location scouts knock on my door at 7:00 a.m. asking to take pictures for Dexter one day. They took the pictures and put them in "the book" which, I guess means anyone can ask to film there.
So maybe someday my former house will be in a movie or TV show. I think the funniest thing I've ever seen was driving around downtown LA on our anniversary we were stopped at a corner and across the street, the street was closed down. There was a bus and Jack from Jack in The box was laying on the ground in front of the bus. Turns out that was the filming of the commercial when Jack got hit by a bus. They only showed it once, during super bowl that year. |

My office in grad school was in Ape City from one of the Planet of the Apes movies.

'My Blue Heaven' was filmed in the town I grew up in. An episode of 'Rockford Files' was filmed in a nearby town. Also as a kid I got to see an episode of 'Knight Rider' being filmed in Reseda, CA when I was living there for a short while. Probably quite a bit more I don't know about or remember.

I was in high school and they were filming "Light of day" with Michael J Fox and Joan Jett down the street from the school. We would go before school to see if we could see them there. Never did, had to get to class, did see their trailers though. |
|
Yes, lots of westerns were filmed in the neighborhood
Malibu Creak park filmed the Planet of the Apes series, among lots of other movies. M*A*S*H site is out there. |

I was in Seattle when sleepless in Seattle was filmed. They let people walk back and forth in front of a window of a cafe they were eating at in the movie. Middle of the summer at midnight they were shooting fireworks over lake Washington, it's in the film. It got my attention from the hotel so I sat on the balcony and watched it.
I was in Tiger Stadium as an extra when Everyones all American was filmed there. That's about it. |
|
I have been to a few places in Astoria, OR and Cannon Beach, OR where parts of Goonies and Kindergarten Cop were filmed.

Quoted: I worked security for the special effects trailer during filming of The Crazies. Part of it was filmed locally, so I see the location often. It was interesting to see how they utilized local places and items for the movie. View Quote I forgot about that movie. Always wanted to see a sequel after the way they ended it. I was in a low budget indie film so I saw the locations on that one but other than that can't think of any. |

The wife and I happened to be in Amsterdam during the filming of The Hitman's Bodyguard. We watched them race boats up and down a canal. It was pretty neat to see.

Been to several.
Kualoa ranch in O‘ahu. Which include jurassic park, jurassic world, george of the jungle, pearl harbor, wind talkers, tears of the sun, karate kid 2, godzilla, along came Polly l, CSI, Lost, and fifty first dates. Just to name a few. They left quite a few sets behind as tourist attractions for the ranch. Got to ride some side by sides through the ranch a couple years ago. Pretty cool. Columbus WI when they were filming Public enemies. Also eaten at little Bohemia where the actual shoot out occurred, and where they filmed it with Johnny Depp for the movie. Met Johnny Depp in Columbus while they were filming. Seemed nice. He was alot shorter than I expected. I was in Philly when they were filming national treasure and had to plan my vacation around it. I was at the liberty bell a few hours before they filmed their scene there. |
|
Animal House, Cottage Grove & Eugene.
Both towns basically said "thank you, don't ever come back" |

Well...
I have been in about 30 movies, TV shows and commercials. Including starring in 5 shitty movies. So, I was certainly there when it happened sometimes .....and because of this, I have filmed in some studios where really big things have been made. |
